So my laptops toast and it's either going to need a reset or a new hard drive. I've already begun a physical backup, but my second external hdd is currupted, so I need to look into some cloud storage options as a plan B. Any recommendations to save me some browsing?

Need something cheap, reliable and short term. Shouldn't need all that much storage.

Maybe have a look at getting a Synology?

What's this synology? Google results seem to point towards hardware.

Yep, it's your own home cloud storage! It's a most brilliant thing.

And I don't trust clouds for more than one reason, not only security, but also availability, continuity, etc. However, mostly, I don't trust others with my data, especially not large corporations.

I'm just looking for something reliable to dump my work and files on for about a week incase something happens to my physical back up. Otherwise I would agree, I'm not keen on throwing all my stuff onto the cloud.

Dropbox offers 2GB for free accounts, and as they sell more space they shouldn't be too unreliable. Using it for a long time myself without any problems.
With the Dropbox program you can just put your files into a special folder and it will upload them to the cloud, or on the other PC it will sync with your cloud and download them. Today I even dreamed about Dropbox, it must be a sign! :ugly:
If you use my referal link I even get some more space for free. :5: https://db.tt/OTaJcoo

Cheers guys, will check them all out. Currently using Dropbox for file sharing, I'll see how it prices up against the others.

If you need something for a week, my dropbox has 48 GB spare. I can share a folder with you or something, I'm not really using it.
