It needs to based on something otherwise it doesn't solve the problem of unbalanced teams; just jumbles the problem and makes new ones.

Ranks are a linear value: 1, 2, 3, 4, ...
Skill is a curve: 70k, 55k, 53k, ...

So skill could be finer granulated?

For some strange reason the gscramble settings file was empty (?!?!?!) on the vanilla servers, so it ran by default config.

I've restored the settings file now, and I have experimentally changed the sorting mode to option 4.

Please provide us with feedback from *only* the vanilla server scrambles, and then not on the reasons why it scrambles, but if the actual scrambles make sense (i.e. are the teams indeed improved after the scamble?)

She cleared out the per-map configs, somehow the gScramble overall config file had a line in it "//this file is suppose to be empty"

I think that was from the old per-map-type config structure which was removed upon rebuilding gScramble on the no-crtiz server. Somehow the new settings never transferred to the vanilla servers it seems.

Did you get the current configs?

What needs to be done is that the overall config indeed needs to be cleared, and they need to be implemented per map type, or per map. But I think map-type would be the best for starters, cause it's a daunting task to get it all configured and thought out right.

Current it's global, next stage per map type, and perhaps if really required we can go down to per-map.

That is the work that Anna has set me and zombie. But we are unsure about whether or not she wants us to physically update and setup the cfgs, which we haven't been shown how to properly or where they are kept.

Uhm, that confuses me :mrgreen: I think she wants you 2 to sort out the dynamic maps plugin and all the dependencies etc. That needs finishing up first.

I've been switched while alive as well, failed to mention it though... like a fool! But yeah, i always assumed the scramble waited till death etc.

Scrambling with regard to points per minute is definitely the best way of doing things. However, it would be very nice to be able to stack it, having points per minute AND player classes taken into account. Is this possible with the current plugin, or would that require some hefty re-programming?

you really shouldn't use 4 as 4 actively discriminates against people primarily playing Medics.

There is a current problem though with the scramble moving all the medics onto just one team due to high points.

I'm not sure if scramble options can be stacked though.

IMHO, if your team has too many medics, just pick another class... I don't see what the problem is, TBH.

The scramble mod takes classes into account. It has high, medium and low priority classes. It will try to keep that balanced while doing a scramble.
