I've been using it on and off for a while now, and I just can't decide if I like it or not. It has its obvious advantages, but it throws my aim off a little, especially with the scattergun, and the it's pretty irritating when you're using it with the revolver. I guess it's something you need to get use to.

So who uses it?

It's great for demoman and soldier, those odd few moments where you are just standing there waiting to attack next to a dispenser or in cover sometimes i forget to start the reloading so this feature is really good for that.

The only weapon so far that I have encountered that really has issues with auto reload is the spy.

I can't remember the last time I played without an auto-reload. Even before the in-game option I had a script running for it.
It's especially important as scout, since pressing R means you can't also be pressing D.

It's quite annoying for spy though, that's for sure. But that's mostly because of the reload animation.

I tried it when I first started to play TF2 and I didn't really like the feature. Only about a week ago I thought I'd give it another try and I don't actually mind it now especially as you say Balls, with soldier and demo.

Yeah it's best for soldier, and demo. A little arkward with scout, with the viewmodel swinging to the right, but being able to reload while jumping around is valuable.

Just got keep it turned off when I play spy, think I'm going continue using it again.

I actually went through a phase of using it ^^ but in the end i just gave it up as it just annoyed me (for spy etc. because i play spy alot! :ugly: ) I find it just as easy to press r when you actually want to reload :> Its not THAT difficult. And im clearly a beast at TF2 so you can trust me on this! :D

Well before I'd reload without even being aware I was doing so, but you do delay when doing it manually, you also wont start reloading when your aiming one shot after the other, or dodging like nuts. If you can reload that extra rocket, sticky, or shot it can save your hide.

Kinda hopeless, but improving (134)

I have auto reload bound to a key so if I change to spy I can simply turn it off without going into the menus.

It should be something like: cl_autoreload 0 or 1
So in the spy.cfg, type in: bindtoggle "key" cl_autoreload

Or just put the desired value in each class cfg, then there's no need to toggle.
