So, we finally (well, me) got convinced we should introduce end-of-round map-voting in TF2. One downside will be is that SpA points will have to go for it. So be it.

Before we can introduce this feature, we require to build config files.

The plugin we want to use is this one; https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=134190

It's highly flexible and with that we directly get to the main issue, it's a bitch to configure. You need to put in quite some time and effort in understanding it's features and the ways to implement it. Time we currently don't really have.

So, my question to our community, is anyone up for the task on figuring out how this plugin should be configured, create the configs in a decent matter (use the mapgroups etc etc)?

Basically what I think we want is a double end of round vote. First a vote that offers something like 5 maps to choose from. Once this vote has been completed, a new vote should be called with the top 2 maps from the previous vote to choose from.

So, anyone up for the task to help us out?

Of course I do :)

Download the file, read/search through the topic, try to produce something!

I can grant you access to the servers to you can maintain it. (TF2 requires more maintenance than this, so you could also help out on other fronts if you want)

Hey Saint,

i think thats a nice idea.. in the past i talked to Junco about the rotation, but i rly think voting will work a bit better especially when the server is not full. Just some suggestions i knew from other servers we are playin on.

Maybe try not to use the buttons 1, 2 or 1 to 4. Most ppl are hitting 111111 when the vote-menu appears :?
Vote-menu with buttons 5 to 9 works better.

And what about map nomination? Maybe ppl can type !nominate to get a special map in the next vote. So everyone whos willing can suggest a map and there will be something for everyone in the vote :ugly:

.. as I said.. just 2 things I know from some other servers.

cu later :5:

Not sure about the specific number requests, but the nominate command can be done with this.

If 9mm doesn't do it, I'll do it, just need a list of the maps we have on the server. As, I have lots of maps on my system, can't remember which ones are standard or not.

He's correct on both suggestions, the plugin description talks about both of them, so it should be doable! 8)

Here's a list of all the official maps;

Have a chat with 9mm, perhaps you can work on it together!

P.s.

@banana

SpA points could work, if someone edits it so it disables the upcoming vote when spapoints has been triggered ;)

Totally doable with the nominate thing that is part of the plugin.
I quickly wrote a cfg already with the runoff votes which enables the vote of 2 maps after the main vote that gives 6 maps.
Its far from finished so please poke my butt when you are around bubba, or if I see you I will french kiss you like a ninja.

Yes, and we should do the same for the MvM servers.
