How Do I enter a tf2 server, what do I need?

so I finally got tf2..and I did my login for the points but It says I'm not validated...

Hmm, I assume you did it ingame. Some people have problems doing it ingame, so you can use the handy webpage: http://services.specialattack.net/validation/login

Forum login first, then steam, then you're good!
