Went to a fishers village this sunday, was awake at early morning time and decided to go out and make some pictures

This was the hotel we were staying, with bar beneath it, where you still could smoke your ass off. They decided it'd be better to pay the fine twice a year then to forbid smoking, as all of there custommers practically smoke :D The place was packed with Irish and Scottish ppl and they had a tap with strongbow :D
And there's Unity

Oh, wait, so Guido is a name, that means unity? Or is a word that translates to unity, but at the same time can be used as a name? o0 I'm lost, as usual :/
All I'm certain of is that it ain't no Swedish name, that's for sure :P
Dunno about other countries though.

Oh. Then I epically failed. I failed to realize that unity is just a nick, and he's named something else xD
So when it was said Guido was his name I though unity = guido ><
That's what happens if you speak before you think :D

My bad, I should've said Guido is Unity not Guido = Unity  or Unity's real name is Guido... the latter would probably have been better :)

Some nice pictures.

A few years ago now we spent Christmas in Scotland (just south of Oban) and on Christmas Day we saw one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. It was as if the horizon was on fire. I was still learning amatuer photography at the time but managed to get a couple of pictures that came close to capturing that moment - heres one.

The longer the wait, the sweeter the pie....
Right
The better your camera will feel! ( be sure not to drop those plastic cased cannons though, one drop and your camera will be fucked! Maybe see if you can get an extended insurance/guarantee).

I got me one of these as well
Image
You also have that in rain proof version, it's small and enables you to carry and grab your camera quickly when you want to make a nice shot of some stupid bird who doesn't understand the meaning of the words "Hold, sit still you bastard, only 10 seconds more and I have my camera set to the right settings!"

Find yourself some internet pages or pdfs on photography, or photography for dummies. I got some nice pdfs if you'd like em and be sure to force yourself never to use the automatic settings on that camera, fully manual for the win m8, that'll get you up to speed in no time!
Ah well, just drop me a message when you wanna buy a tripod or if you want to get one of those pdfs.

Also, gorilla pod ftw
Image
You do still need to get yourself a propper tripod for HD shots or whatever else you wanna photograph where you need to keep your camera very still and don't have a tree to clench it on with the gorilla pod.
I got this one http://www.fotokonijnenberg.nl/product/ ... combi.html
It's a set discount on a head and tripod. Manfrotto is one of the better pods out there. The head ain't the favorite of photographers as the majority rather uses a ball head, but it's pretty workable for ppl who don't wanna spend even more then 150 euros on a pod.
Don't think something like this will cut it Image. This is one of the more expensive velbons as they also produce crap in the 30 euro price range , but this pod won't give you the usability of the better pods, they won't give you the same comfort , quality, durability and there's always a chance you'd see your DSLR tumbling down the mountain as the wind blew it over. The manfrotto i posted will cary some of the bigger lenses as well, the part where you attach your camera to the pod is from metal, etc. etc.
Gitzo has some nice pods as well, but they're expensive http://www.fotokonijnenberg.nl/productl ... gitzo.html
As probably is clear, I'm no fan of the cheaper velbon, vanguard, hama crap, but some ppl do put their DSLRs on it. It's just that you at least need to spend a 90 euros on a pod like that which will get you crap compared to a manfrotto for a bit more bucks, while your spending 90 anyways.

Aye, that first picture Bucky. Awesome. Wouldn't be Holland (NL?) without the windmills ^^
Such a different kind of sunset, dark and looming.
I really like it :)

Well just to be different I like the middle one!

I like strong contrasts and that sunset almost make me squint. What post processing did you do to that one, or is that an original?
