FUCK YOU! (320)
I haven't been interested in my Xbox 360 for a while, or should I say I wasn't. No games I own were interesting me. I just occasionally went on, play Perfect Dark or download a demo. I had seen Red Dead Redemption advertised but didn't take any notice of it at all . . . until now.
I watched a couple of videos, read a couple of previews and thought, "Fuck this, I'm going go buy it!" - and what a buy it was!

This has to be one of the most interesting games I've played. It really is GTA with horses. But it's so fuckin' fun!
I've not got far in the game. I've done a couple of main missions and have mainly just been riding about killing animals, meeting strangers and doing missions for them and going on the trek to get the Deadly Assassins outfit.

I'm still yet to complete enough of Bonnie's missions to learn how to use the lasso, so any bounty I decide to take on I am just blowing the shit out of them.
I'm still yet to learn Dead Eye too. I can't wait to learn that!

I had a bit of long stint today playing it for the first time. I started at 11 a.m. and finished at 3:30 p.m.
Was it worth it? Of course it was! A wicked game, and the graphics are second to none. The vast landscape of this game really does make you smiles, especially when the sun is setting and you get that silhouette across the horizon. Beautiful!

I can see this game keeping me occupied for a while.

Glad you are liking it, id recommend doing bonnie's missions so u can get hooked up with the lasso etc, you will need it if specific costumes or side quests require u not to kill anyone.

Tried out MP last night, but i kept getting dropped so im gonna forward some ports tonight and see if it works, i was waiting for moist, but seeing how you start in MP i wanna level up a bit asap, i wont spoil it but you start off looking like a bit of an ass ;)

I love the lasso.

Sometimes you take down a gang of bandits and you realise you've just wounded the last one. So you run over and hogtie the fucker and you can carry him around wherever you go, until you decide what to do with him.

Popping him down on train tracks is usually the best way to go. ;)

It was not long after I posted here that I decided to have another go at Red Dead Redemption. I went straight to Bonnie and the missions I completed taught me how to use the lasso. :D

I didn't even know you could do that! :mrgreen:

I've decided to put a little video together, to show folks what the games all about essentially. The quality isn't exactly fancy since I don't have any kind of way of recording directly from the Xbox. So I'd advise you to watch it in HD to try and make up for the crappiness.

Regardless of that though, I hope it gives you a chuckle, and makes you want to buy the game. :wink:

Being Scottish, it's the first place I gravitated towards when I arrived in Armadillo, and naturally I bought drink after drink until I couldn't keep John on his feet anymore.

Same, i loved VC and GTA in general as a concept; but this just has a lot more going on, and a lot more scope. Plus even something as minor as wildlife makes the world so much more real and a better sense of immersion . GTA4 was pretty much populated by copy and paste drones :D

Although the best multiplayer game Rockstar ever made was The Warriors. The two player co-op in that was an absolute riot. There was nothing like picking up a trash can to nail an opposing gang member as my mate ran at full speed at a group of them and launched himself into them sidewards to knock them down like bowling pins.

Or the level where we had to run around robbing stores whilst being constantly chased by the Police and opposing gang's. It was bloody fiendish with just the two of us, as if the Police managed to subdue you, they'd handcuff you on the ground and the only way to get free was for your mate to come free you, which took a bit of time. Me and my mate were in absolute stitches as everytime we tried to free each other, we'd suddenly have to take off as we were being chased by the cops. It got to the point where we'd been handcuffed a good six or seven times each, and still with our goal to complete. Utter madness, and utter brilliance.

And I know it sounds a bit ridiculous, but taking hats off of people and trying to keep them on your own head for the duration of the level became something of a mini game for us. And there was a surprising variation of hats in the game. Basically if you got into a scrap, then your hat could get knocked off. And with all manner of chase sequences and stuff, there was always a chance a hat could get lost, so it was actually a bit of a challenge.

And even to this day, me and my mate still spout off a classic line from those days. One of those eternal gaming memories that always define a time and place, and send you into a little nostalgia flashback.

'Don't forget your hat'

Which is a line my mate muttered to me just before he was squashed by a subway train. :lol:

Pretty emotional ending, I won't spoil anything but yeah... I almost shed a manly tear.

By the way, this ought to be interesting:

And yeah, maybe even this guy;
This guy for sure;
Possibly this guy;
Yep. This one too;
And definitely this one. No doubt about that;
But not this guy. :56
