Could be. Someone in IRC suggested you need to hit the "mark all posts as read" button for the entire forum, and then it should start working again. could you give that a try ?

noice is right, i just use the "view active topics" button but after the update it only came up with two threads.
ill try the mark read thing. but it has killed the conversation on some obscure threads.

Doesn't work, i can still only see lims mice link and the forum updated post in active topics. Is there a way of getting it working again? it was a much nicer way of seeing the alive posts without having to navigate thru all the various subforums etc.

The Necromancer (4970)
I'm using the "view new posts" link and it works just fine though after the VMWare upgrade initially all threads seemed to be marked as read... Now everything is just as expected in my case.

I used to always use the View active topics but it's not churning up the stuff it used to so I've now resorted to clicking View new posts. So, as it says, it just shows any new posts that people have answered recently or you haven't read yet. If there are no updates then it won't come up with anything.

Or on the View active topics below the last post you will see: Display posts from previous: and a drop down menu that you can choose to display more posts from days to months to a year :5:

If it was that simple, don't you think it would have been done by now!?

Get your head out of your ass man, we can't afford to take our eye off of the ball here! The future of Special Attack could be hinged on this getting fixed, so we don't need have a go hero, maverick types coming in and spouting off insanity the likes of which you just did! :12

Did you try and delete your cache? Maybe there's just something hanging there.
And if the problem is SpA sided, it'll probably get solved somewhere between now and the unseen future!

Did some searching:
Quote:
The "View Active topics" function has stopped working in all forums.
There was a bug in the previous versions whereby the option was on regardless of the admin panel option. This has now been fixed and so the default 'no' option is actually working correctly.
See: viewtopic.php?p=12823404#p12823404
source: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=2011865

With the solution which has to be performed server side (HINT):

Admin panel
General
Manage forums
Click the green cog next to the forum you want to include

Display active topics: yes
Submit

You can turn it on for all forums by using this query on your database. NB you may need to change the table prefix to your own.

Code: Select all
UPDATE phpbb_forums SET forum_flags = forum_flags | 16 WHERE forum_type < 2;
