Though a clear space on the map we can tp guests to wouldn't be such a bad idea, because most just clutter the spawn area, and the spawn especially after getting abit griefed, looks like hell already.

I wouldn't knock Xesdra's idea too quick though, it might be put a stop to unfinished cobble, and dirt huts dotted around the map.

Problem I see with any guest area is that it would have extremely limited resources, meaning they'd all be digging dirt with their bare fists and building sod huts.

Hm aslong as we make sure there's plenty of trees around, and give them a large unmined area, it should be ok

Would it be possible to create a whole chunk that /cmod restores every couple hours, for replenishing resources for a newbie land?

The one downside would be A: replenishing resources, complete with known location and B: Newbies will build there, and get stuck under the refreshed land.

Maybe it would be possible to teleport them back to Newbton before the refresh?

Either that or just keep planting sapplings, which isn't too hard.

I think that this would actually be more fun for the guests, as when I was one, I felt abit lonely not being near anyone, and not being able to tp to people. Could even make a small town in the centre just to host a cobble factory and farm etc.

I mean they don't even have to members to build elsewhere, they just have to spend sometime on the server that way we can clear houses that people built, and never returned. Then we can offer then cash to clear their house in newbton, when they have made their new house elsewhere on the map. it would keep the spawn and the map cleaner, and there'd be no real grief threat.

You could plant saplings, but they'd dig a hole straight to bedrock if they were all digging in a guest area. Also, who would plant 'em?

But yeah, having a newbtown would be fun, though it would be hard for some people to part with their stuff. Does /cmod backup allow backing up different versions?

Well I would say back spawn up, but well guests who might actually return, might lose their stuff.

This has been sort of handy in a way, to show that there's not alot we can do when stuff like this happens, the amount of times I died from teleporting to a guest, was infuriating, so now I'm walking around with iron tools :(

I think Ops, being a moderating rank should be able to /kit diamond tools, and armour like supops. It'd be nice to toggle health, when your purely moderating so a guest can't just kill you when your inspecting their chests, or you don't fall of a cliff while doing so, but as thats not easily done, diamond armour wouldn't go a miss for now. The tools would be good for when you die, as you can replace them quickly, and continue your patrol.

We can move the spawn and have another shit area with shit around it from shit guests, OR just keep the same shit area staying shit and people can just roll with it.

Well seeing as the spawn can't be moved I'd make it away from spawn linked by rail, and we can tp them there, also we can actually keep it tidy, by removing old builds.

Also Capi, what? :-?
