Once had a chance to play with her, at a seminar at the conservatorium, but I didn't took it as I just started playing the Sax and the kids there at the seminar were way way better. Was an awesome introduction day though, to the only conservatorium in holland that not focusses only on classical or jazz. Had an awesome time that day. Candy also does a lot of work there.

Charlie Parker on 1 ofcourse and Coltrane on 2. Still have a lot of respect for these two, it's just the fast jazz crap that's not my style
I mostly play Soul, Funk and Blues the past years though. Oh, and jamming to reggae with a fat one Or jammin with some internet radio stations, I always liked that a lot as well, need to go do that again

I really like both forms of jazz, but the faster experimental style I just appreciate more because of the intricacies and skill required to pull it off without it sounding like an elephant gangbang with a mouse.

I recently found this band, due to my absolutely amazing girlfriend. I don't know much about them right now, but their music is amazing. It's a new, kind of different kind of music than what I usually have to put up with, at least here in America. (justin bitchass, generally the genre of hip-hop, and rihanna) If I were to recommend one song, it would be Little Lion Man. Take the time to listen to it. This band's music gives me chills.

It seems to me that lately (i.e. about a year ago) there's been this sort of trend in 'popular' music (oh dear, do I sound like an elitist music prick or what) of melancholy, wintry, rural sounds. I'm not saying that I don't like it but for some reason something deep inside tells me that I shouldn't like it.
