photo-realism is instantly broken when titles textures are shown in long shots ^^

Indeed, that is more lucid. I agree that tessellation of distant objects is one of the many weaknesses of MC as an abstract engine. However the gameplay that we have derived from the possibilities it presents far exceed any limitations of the code's creator.

My point? Don;t knock it 'till you've actually tried it, mmm'kay? :wink:

hehe, wasnt knocking minecraft, you look at any game environment with single pass tiled textures for a long distance and it will look shit ^^ that is how tiling works :D

The glowstone seemed kinda odd/misplaced, but in overal it's a ver good texture pack. Mind adding some SS's during the day?

Yeah, it is a bit. Up close the textures are really good, but at a distance, as Balls says, the tessellation is just HORRID. Anyway, it causes a huge amount of renderer lag so I've gone back to the default textures again. Shame really - I do get VERY tired of low-def graphics (I'm really not a retro-head).

...because it never was in Minecraft? Just guessing.

I just pray from the day when Notch declares this game complete and stops adding to it. Then coders with actual talent can get their hands on the finished product and port it the fuck out of java. Useless piece of crap.

Actually, why has no one tried to reproduce this in UEng 3? The dev kit's free now, isn't it?

Yes it is the sun. My point was that the sun was never a cube in MC

At least we know the world isn't round :ugly:


And as I was expecting, the texture pack looks nice at night but during the day only the water seemed good, everything else seemed misplaced :s
(specially the bloody chicken lol)
