If your just looking for a cheap shitty mic, you can get clip on, and mounted ones for like nothing at all, like £3. Mines a clip on, but apparently it sounds just fine. Doesn't to pick up noise from the speakers either.

Sennheiser all the way, I have the Sennheiser PC360, best headset EVA

I did look at the fatility headset too, but Sennheiser are a top brand for headsets so I went with imo the best :4

So forget a mic and get a headset

Err yeah the Sennheiser PC360 costs like £100+ !!! i would never spend that much on a headset, my fatality cost around £30 so unless he wants to spend over £100 then that may not be for him :?

Once you've extensively tried a Sennheiser you'll never buy different again.

I got mine years ago and that thing is fkin indestructible, and no, I don't take any specific care of my equipment. It's saint proof, says enough.

I bought my Sennheisers for about £80, they were on offer at Amazon! I bought them 3 years ago and they are still going strong :5:

Your voice quality sounds fine in mumble, I've not heard you ingame as sometimes it can be quite different.

Sennheisers are excellent quality when it comes to audio, there are many that match the brand. At the end of the day, it's your own opinon and also you are the person that will be wearing them so comfort is also important. Another reason I went with the PC360 is that they fit me, most headsets are too big for me so I have to look for a headset that is small enough to fit me comfortably.

Compared to other headsets, Sennheiser's build quality is total crap. Sure, the sound is good, put they fall apart in a heartbeat and the spares for them cost more than other headphones.

Just get something with USB connectivity and that has sound quality you can stand. I ended up going for some unknown brand after my Sennheiser fell apart and they are working out great (offering a much mroe sturdy product for 1/3 the price)

My previous precious headset was a 1.95€ "piece of crap" which had purer sound quality than my expensive quality microphone I use for recording my shit (I'm a musician). Found it in a discount store :ugly:

If you're looking for a clip on mic, then just get this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Speedlink-SL-86 ... 777&sr=8-1

Good sound quality, fully metallic casing + clip and it's cheap.

Generally you have to pay out of your arse for a headset, getting headphones + a clip on mic with save you a lot of money and give excellent quality. I'm using the speedlink mic + some old sennheiser HD407's, if I had the money I would replace the headphones though.

As for headphones for games: http://www.vanillatf2.org/2011/07/guide ... eadphones/
