This time, I went to Nara, which is known as the first capital of Japan (for a few decades of 8th century). It has the largest wooden structure in the world, the Todaiji temple - there's a giant statue of Buddha, and also, in one of the pillars, there's a small hole said to be the exact size of the Buddha's nostril. If you can squeeze through this pillar hole, it should bring you good luck or something. As you can see in my photoalbum, I did it! Good thing to be featherweight!

Also, the most popular thing in Nara are the deer(s). There are hundreds of them just wandering around the parks - and they are always hungry. Luckily, there's a whole business devoted to selling snacks for deer, which are meant for tourists to buy them and feed them to the deer. That can be quite fun, but some deer are downright douchebags who slam into you forcefully, chase you around and fight with the other deer, just to get the snacks. Luckily, the local people are clever enough to cut their antlers, so that tourists don't get hurt (too much).

Well, I'm going home on 22nd, just in time for christmas! It was really fun though, and I'm not feeling like leaving yet, but what can I do? I'll be back, anyway

Um, I went to one or two, but since no people I hang out with are into it, I didn't really play anything (I did two years ago when I was in Japan, though).
The arcades are quite depressing, really - they are like casinos for kids, there are more slots and "pick up crane things" then games. Oh, and also photobooths

It was extremely enjoyable in Japan, now I have the exam term facing me... But also, next week, the scholarship sorting test is being held - if I do well on it, I'll probably go to Japan again, to a uni this time
