i'm guessing that this is a nerf overall - means the heavy takes three seconds longer before he can get in the fight. shame that you can't build uber with them anymore, but you can do that with a ton of different classes nowadays, so it's no biggy.

i'm still completely WTF'ing at this. wish i was gonna be around for the next week to test it out, to see if it means what i think it meas. how out of the blue and game-changing is this?!

YES. GOOD. this is gonna make this weapon so much better, and i've just started getting into it too :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

who uses this anyway? guess it'll come in handy over the pyro update period

i think this makes it like the Quick Fix of soldier backpacks. makes it a bit more viable, which is nice, it just wasn't that interesting in the first place.

fair enough, this weapon has had it coming for a while. i'm guessing that The Escape Plan is essentially the speed boost bonus without the damage penalty; introducing a second weapon like that is just about the best solution they could have come up with.

* Increased duration from 6 to 8 seconds

maybe someone will actually use it now? :ugly: i can see this syncing very well with the new scattergun.

to keep it in line with the crit-a-cola change i guess. it felt like it lasted for ages in the first place anyway, but whatever

so a 10% buff to the standard flamethrower. our resident pyrolords will be better at the theorycrafting than me, but considering that 10 percent per hit goes a long way on a rapid-firing weapon like the flamethrower then this sounds like a meaty buff. Phlogistinator change is trivial, but it's still a bad weapon for bad pyros, so whatever :ugly:
in conclusion, i wish i was around to play it. easily the best changes we've seen in a long time, this has me as excited as the rest as the rest of the update put together. also, rocket jumping medics!!! top job, Valve :4

- Fixed crash after last nights TF2 update
- Fixed servers "dell" and "tavish", no idea yet how, trying to figure out how to fix the other servers

Update:
Found the cause of the crashes (3)
- Updated Sourcemod to version 1.4.3
- Updated SDK tools to version 2.2.0
- Removed TF2 superlogs (provides more extensive logging to HLstatsX)

All servers should work again.

Today's update introduced a new version of quickplay. It is currently in beta. A small percentage of players will be asked if they want to try out the beta, when they press the "Start playing" button.

Both the vanilla servers have been opted in to this new quickplay beta.

There is a crashbug in the PvP servers which should get resolved in a TF2 update tonight.
