Hey folks. I’ll try and keep this to the point.
The thing is, the threads we see in this board have a habit of being not-very-interesting; and if they’re not interesting, then A) everyone gets bored and B) the person making that post disappears into a sea of people with similarly bland, indistinctive introductions. So for your sake as well as ours, try and make yer intro a good one!
Bad introductions
These are so generic and numerous that I won’t give any particular examples. Most of them go something like
hi, i’m gamerdude ages 15 from narnia, i played on ur [minecraftl4d/tf2] servers xD
…and that’s it. Pretty boring and crap, right? Especially when so many people have introductions that are practically identical to it.
Good introductions!
Yay! These are the ones where we actually get to know who you really are, and you're no longer some faceless freebuilder/tf2er/whatever on the end of a phoneline.
What makes an introduction good is a pretty broad criteria – they don’t even have to be ‘wtf huge’, but more does tend to be better - so here’s a bunch of examples to show you the kind of thing we mean.
