The last war was fun, tho it lacked at organization.
But imo a new war, would be a bit lame. So I would welcome a 1on1/2on2 Tourmanent.
for 1on1 a Class should to be selected that everyone has to play.
for 2on2 I would say that every team can play whatever they want.
The Map should be a duel Map(best would be dm biosphere_v3 or dm duelv1)
16 teams should be enough.
The date can be on a weekend or a day, that is ok for the teams, that fight each other.
Is such a tournament possible? It would be rly funny.

2v2 is a bit too few IMHO.

Could be lots of fun to make a 5v5 SpA ladder tournament :D

we had recently one. It's quite enough, if we have just once in a month or two a spa vs commu war.
tournament events would give that whole event thing something fresh 8)

We've been thinking about doing tournaments, the problem is if you don't want someone to monitor the tournaments constantly you need some propper coding to create a online system for people to reg up to and play the tournie's. Not likely this is going to happen anytime soon unless you know someone who can code and has too much spare time

I would say that we set some peeps as jury and they will keep an very good eye on the matches.
The jury should get spa spoints, for his help.
Isn't that good enough? other then that it isn't that hard to watch a dm tournament. After all it does only count the kill and the death. Exploits and stuff are very easy to detect and I don't think that someone from this community will cheat. We are all honest, aren't we? O.o

I'm not talking about keeping an eye on the ingame stuff, but u really want a calendar to be able to plan matches, a script which sets a cetrain password on the server for that match, scripts to restart the round when people are ready to play and so forth and so forth.

The calender and organization stuff can be done on the forum(don't think that will be a problem).
Admins can set the passwort on a server, can't they?
Same goes for restarting a match.
I don't see any problem, as long as admins play the jury.
But I could be wrong, too...I never had any admin rights, on a steam server.

And there you have the whole issue. You need admins around to do the tasks, and most likely you won't find admins who are availible 24/7 just to manage the matches.

Has no REAL life! (2026)
Its a possibility - to create a torunament - laddered - it would require alot of planning, oversight, organisation.

I love the idea - but it also needs dedicated people, if your late/ dont come it holds everyone else up, delays etc

Also I dont understand what is meant by 2v2? 2 people vs 2 people? because i could see this working in games like CS, but tf2 is about mass bum bashing... so 2v2 wouldnt work.

5v5 is an idea - would have to wait for the new server so we could have a dedicated war server or two...

When the time comes around, a script is made up, dedicated server is running, website with a calendar/registration feature is up then I would be happy to run it.. but without those tools to "contain" it, it would be hell...
