I'm constantly getting this annoying error when server is changing map:

"Your map *.bsp differs from the server"

Verifying the game cache helps for a while, but soon it is bitching about some else map. I've re-installed TF2 and that doesn't help either. Tried to play on a different comp, but getting this same error after a while. Reported this problem to Valve and only instruction what i got from them is "verify the game cache" and "blame the server". But the server side is fine, cause i'm getting this error on every server :23

At the moment it is bitching about 2fort, and i can live without playing that map

Any help is appreciated, and i have to get rid of this error, before baltic cup, otherwise i can't play that... :56

Hm. Try playing only on 1 server (after verifying the cache) for a while and see whether it'll show again. What I think is that one server may change the *.bsp (is that possible?) and while you are playing on other server, that error shows.

I've recently played only on SpecialAttack #1, so that's not helping...

Delete the map from your map folder.

You will then download a correct version from the server when you connect!

Valve's maps are not in a separate *.bsp files, so cannot delete it :(

did you delete the whole
\Steam\steamapps\account\team fortress 2\
directory?

because when you re-install through the steam client, this directory does not get deleted.

so just delete it and start tf2 again and you should be fine.

I also uninstalled steam and deleted steam directory when i re-installed TF2.
Did the same thing with that other comp, but that didn't work either :?

Perhaps some corruption on your harddrive..? Try a full scan on it, perhaps that works. Even could try a degfrag....

Try to make the whole maps-folder read-only?

PS: Of course, after verifying cache :)

Problem solved, finally :)

This problem was caused by my ADSL modem/router... After trying everything else, and having a long chat with steam support, we finally found the solution... Modem was garbling the connection, and causing some kind of parse errors, which corrupted the map file :11

I replaced my modem today with a new one, and now everything seems to work fine. This was a bit odd, cos otherwise my connection was working fine...

Thanks for advices everyone :18
