P.S. I don't think images with a width of 500 pixels are allowed in signatures on our forum... That is - the system won't allow to use it anyway.

Well - look at this page now and compare the image-to-text ratio. Even the advertisements drown in all these signature banners. I thought forums were first and foremost meant for posting TEXT, not the same huge-ass images over-and-over again...

No worries - I ad-blocked the signatures as well. ;-)
I can't complain about what I (luckily) can't see...

By the way, you really should think about what lacop and I said about the signature banners - it's not that I'm all against them but up until now only a few people used them and they were reasonably sized. Now the whole thing got out of hand. I already wrote SaintK about this issue and requested him to limit the maximum image size in signatures even more. I mean - 500 pixels is almost 40% of my screen width... And then the same image gets posted each time the person in question posts a one-liner.

Is this a forum or an image gallery hosting site? If we look at the text-to-image ratio it sure looks like the latter to me...

It's not only about YellowGoudvis - my initial comments were ironic. When I saw what he settled for in the end, however, I simply had to intervene since things are getting worse. Quattro (formerly known as Fucktastic) made a huge freakin' "Quattro" banner and from what I gather Beserker is working on his as well... Please don't succumb to the phenomenon known as "creeping biggerism" since bigger doesn't always mean better...

P.S. I know there's an option to disable signatures and/or images in your profile but I like text signatures and some banners kept in tasteful sizes because they make it easier to identify posts by certain users.

Could have made it without the compression, wasnt supposed to happen this way, but i still like it.

I dare you to remake it and save it as PNG and possibly use .BMP as temporary saves so quality isn't lost. Then you'll see what I meant.

To be honest, as you probably can see this picture was made out of different parts . The problem is that I cannot rework it, because I dont have these parts anymore, and tbh I´m too lazy to search for the parts, cut em out, resize em, and so on.

Then I will attempt to recreate it.

And make a comparison between paint's jpeg compression and photoshop's compression.

He, he - if you had worked with layers (you can use Paint.NET - it's far, far simpler than Photoshop, has a very similar interface to Paint and has tons of plugins to extend its functionality should you need that) and saved the project before converting it to any particular image format you wouldn't have that problem. =)

I'm with lim-dul. on the forums I help run we dissallow big signatures, it's pretty much only awful. It's unfortunate that gamers for some reason seem to like having more signatures than posts in a thread. The biggest sigs we have there is something like one line of text and maybe a 50x100 image. Most people have less than that and it's MUCH more pleasing to the eye.

Go on, I dont mind, its still my creation, if it looks better afterwards and Yellow thinks so too, its okay.
And, I know it will probably look better, because I know how it looked before I converted it into JPG.

I can't find the fish

I mean, I'm not really bothered by the jpeg quality issue so much to go browse through a million gold fish images.

lol, cant find the fish too. I forgot what I was searching for. Anyways, I think finding the background, the hat and the glasses, as well as the font and the boom headshot (also this is probably the easiest ) could be hard for u.
