Unfortunatly we haven't been able to fix the issue's we're experiancing on the new server.

Next weekend we'll be going back to the datacenter again and place back the old machine, and we'll take the new machine back home for more inspection.

Most likely i'll be taking the server back to Tyan for inspection, as we have seriouse suspicions to the hardware being faulty.

In short for the people who want to know whats up with it, the new machine uses per proccess some 300% more CPU load then the exact same configuration does at MrWhite, who has the same CPU. This results in a CPU overload on the TF2 servers, and thus very bad performances.

We'll post more information as soon as we have some.

Little update;

I've took the day off friday so we don't need to mess around with it in the weekend. For whoever is availible, please try to stand by around 12.00 till 16.00, we'll require several testruns on the TF2 server, and it would greatly speed up things if people could instantly join.

Here is a little info on what kind of testing will be done friday, and the impact on the services because of it;

- Upgrade BIOS version to newly released bios
-> Boot up server, test run
(Repeat proccess 4 times to test out other bios versions aswell)

- Play around with differant BIOS settings
-> Requires multiple test rounds

If all fails; Place back the OLD MrBlonde, take back the new machine home for further testing and hardware replacements.

The gameserver will be completely unavailible during this time, accept when its doing test runs with the TF2 server.

We've placed back the old MrBlonde in the datacenter. The new machine is now at our place for further testen.

It looks like we've fixed the server. With help of the tyan support guy's we've installed an unreleased beta bios, and optimized some bios settings. Tonight we've did a test run, with 12 players active, the server had 15% CPU load on one core, 3% overall CPU load, and a rock solide 990 frames per second on the TF2 server.

We'll be going to the datacenter as soon as possible to replace the server again. There is only one sligh problem, because of a dispute between Easynet, the owner of the datacenter, and Leaseweb, who rents a part of it, no Leaseweb customers (we) are allowed to ship goods in or out. This means we're currently NOT allowed to swap the server around. Talk about timeing....

I've placed back the new machine, and i am happy to say that the problems have officially been fixed!

Server 1 is currently running with 26 players, 30-40% CPU load on one core, and a rock solide 990 FPS on the server side!
