The move didn't fix the freeze's. This rules out the rackswitches as being a problem. I've informed Leaseweb that they should search between the rackswitches and the gateway (which according to them are directly connected). Conclusion; The problem should be in the gateway itself. (if their info towards me is correctly).

I am now waiting for one of the head network administrators there to contact me and to continue to troubleshoot the problem.

This sounds as random as a car mechanic diagnosing a problem.

Just replacing bits and seeing.

Aaaah! This method has cost me a lot.

Yea it's pretty lame isn't it? Getting very annoyed by it because they also refuse to listen to propper suggestions :P

At least that change brought my ping back to normal on spa servers from ~120 to ~70 :)

Ah i though that was just me, but that change did effect the ping afterall then.
