Ah the good old days when I barely knew what the hell am I supposed to do. True story. I ran from point to point trying to figure out what to do - especially on this map, whatever it's called.

Image

Ah, the good old days when not losing completely was an achievement on it's own. For me.

Ah, the good old days of Well when I ran ahead as a demoman only to blow up the water access.

Ah, the good old days until I realized the green pipebombs can be detonated (It took a while. Like, a long time.)

Ah, the good old days of mindless F and G spam and those goddamn enemies always knowing how to conc jump and me always failing.

Ah, the good old days of being completely unaware of spy's backstab ability (it did have backstab, right? seriously)

Ah, the good old days when the medic's nailgun was the best thing for distant sentry removal.

Ah, the good old days of bunnyhopping EVERYONE ELSE mastered and I could hardly even jump normally.

Ah, the good old days of pyro's flamethrower being horribly useless whenever I use(less)ed it.

I say fuck those days. TF2 is better end of discussion.
And yes I only made this thread because I found a screenshot of TFC on my old hard drive
Feel free to nostalgiate in this thread.

And no this doesn't belong in the entertainment subforum because ever since 2007 I think that TFC is completely horrible, broken and unfun. Oh the old days. Things were much simpler and less understood by me at those times.

Omg, when I'm remembering back to the times when I started with TF2, I tried the Demoman and thought it was total crap, I placed stickys and expected em to blow up when people step on em, I didnt know I have to press mouse2 to make em explode, until I've read it in the tips between the map changes. I havent played any Demoman for the first months of TF2. So I played egni for a looong time. So Blackhawk, that nub, thought when I participated in the first Soldier 1on1 cup, that I'm playing Engi mostly, although I already stopeed playing it mainly. :ugly:

TFC was fun, altough those nutsuckers were able 2 time those grenades exactly right, bounce on it(while killing you) and just hop on to an elevated platform and skullrape your sentry.... I mean... WTF?

ah the good old days... when everyone had modems and the people that had broadband were b******s because they had a ping advantage...

i played tfc on a 33.6k modem. :D

Took me ages to realise that demoman had a democharge he could place and set the time for, BRING IT BACK!

I used to love that map where you could activate the gas and kill everyone except those under water, i also used to love civilian maps, they kinda sucked, but i loved playing as the civ lol.

and ah the good old days, when 2fort was good ;)

edit: oh and the days when everyone hated HWGays...

Hehe. I really did love TFC. I know what map you're talking about Mike, with the poison gas. It was always a mad dash when that alarm sounded to either get underwater or get yourself into one of those tiny cupboards.

I can't even remember what class I used to play as most now. It was probably the Soldier now that I come to think about it. He did have laser guided missiles after all. I was a big fan of the Spy as well. Especially on Well.

I'd suggest we have a game of it for old times sakes but me and a couple of mates tried to play it in an internet cafe in Glasgow and it was truly horrendous.

It's best that memories are kept as just that. Memories.

I don't think I really knew the difference between the Sniper's sniper rifle and the "SMG". They both looked alike, and the SMG had a faster firing rate. Clearly the SMG was better in every aspect.

(Me being young, very young)

Yeah I remember the sniper rifle looked exactly the same as the smg >_< Got me confused some times
I doubt I will try it anytime soon.. I remember having to bring a flag to points on dustbowl instead of capping 0_0

Ladies and gentlemen, upon searching various sectors for fragmented gold, I came upon this gem, fabricated 8th July, 2004.

Image

I remember I actually sent it to PlanetTeamFortress as a POTD entry. I never got a reply.
