Hey guys,

my gf is looking for a new laptop and as I'm more the desktop guy I'm not that much into the current laptop stuff.

Basically:
* No netbook as used for working / university
* around 500 +/- 100 €
* Separate gfx card for some gaming
* good sound for music / audiobooks
* light and good cell duration
* Eierlegende Wollmilchsau

Any good hint? What's with AMD vs Intel in mobile CPUs nowadays? Some manufacturer like Sony-who-burn-their-cells which is a no-go?

I know you said no netbooks but if its getting carried about alot by your gf she will find a netbook alot easier todo this with so have a think about the nc20 or msi.

i hardly doubt she'll be gaming nicely for that amount, but it is possible if you look hard.
Of the last 4 links frosty posted, the first one ain't gonna cut gaming well. I have that same graphics card in my laptop and to play tf2 on it is a bitch, only satisfies me when I'm at work and I don't have anything else at hand.

That card I have, the 3100 scores around 797 in 3dmark, the 4500MHD scores around 1319 and the ATI RADEON HD 3200 scores around 2581. You could check the scores out at www.notebookcheck.net or here:

You can get some nice graphs of all those cards compared to each other, cba to find that right now. But if it's gotta be gaming, at least go for that HD3200 then, from the links frosty posted.
