What? - playing competitive TF2 pickup-games (6vs6 (mostly), 7vs7, Highlander etc) for fun and general shits and giggles. usually for about an hour, maybe less, maybe more! we'll be using mumble for comms, so make sure you have that and a working mic.
Who? - anyone! this is open both to SpAs and the community, and as we're doing this just for fun, you're not going to be pigeonholed into playing X class. whilst soldier, scout, demo and medic are the 4 main classes in pickups, we can always mix it up a bit (for fun, yes? :p) and if we play bigger games then we will be needing a variety of classesanyway. even then, don't worry about if you end up playing your 2nd, 3rd or even 9th best class. we're not being super hyper competitive, just so long as you're comfortable with what your doing then cool beans. you could even look at is an opportunity to brush up on your rusty, say, scout skills!
Where? - this is decided for each individual pickup; it could be at the opponents warserver, or at one of our own. there's talk that if there's enough interest in this, we could have another warserver put up, which would be pretty sweet.
When? - the beauty of this is that you can grab a few guys and get a game whenever you feel like it, but to get (and keep) the ball rolling I reckon would should aim to play fairly often on
Saturdays/Sundays, 8/9pm CET (7/8pm British time).
Where do I sign up? - right here! again, don't worry about "ooh but I suck at class (x)", we don't mind - we're not looking for skill, just people that enjoy playing competitively, and our only concern is that you're happy with the class you end up playing
*Big Ol' Signup List* - (I took the liberty of adding everyone involved in last nights pickup, as you all sounded quite keen to go it again. just let me know if you want anything changed
) I should mention that it's not super important that you sign up, because if we're still a few people short and we think you could fill the space, we'll be asking you in steam anyways ;D

edit 22/10/09: this list is pretty huge now; big enough that, chances are, on any given night (not just Sat/Sun) we can get a pickup going, maybe even more than 1 at the weekend. also, don't hang around waiting for me to start one - if you wanna play, with this many people interested then you should find more than enough players, so go for it yourself!
Anything else? - so that anyone can organise a match any time, I'll copy and paste Sonny's awesome guide to getting a game going. it also talks about some basic 6vs6 strategy, and while both the strategy and class lineup are far from set in stone (FUN guys D;) it's a good introduction to the basics.
-(to organise a match):
-go to #tf.wars in quakenet, and search for "6on6 low- off now"
(6on6 > explains itself, low- > the skill (since its ur first time etc), off > the opponent should have a server (although u can also use "on" depending on if warserver #1 is available tonight, since our warteam is most likely playing on warsverer #2 tonight, now > well NOW)
-try and get a lineup of, 1 medic, 1 demo, 2 soldiers, 2 scouts (medic and demo are limited to 1 anyways, and the rest is 2)
-some basics:
° the scouts should work as a pair, eleminating the enemy scouts, trying to get behind enemy lines, harrassing the medic when theres no one paying attention, ninjacapping points etc
° 1 soldier should stay with the medic to protect him from everything which might be there, 1 soldier can be a little more aggressive
° medic should dodge around, keep everyone buffed, and should call the pushes/organize a bit, if you have a team of 6 alive and an uber ready, push with it going in with demo/soldiers trying to force the other uber/kil the medic/kill as many enemies as possible
° demo can have multiple tasks, protecting the medic as well as going aggressive against enemies, if you are getting pushed back, place traps, and always secure everything around you, while waiting for the enemies to push
