Well there are a lot of cvars that will gain you some fps and set details below game "low" settings.

Im getting pretty low fps on the newest maps, and Im really bad with console commands :p.

Well theres nothing you can do to help your fps at new maps ( sawmills, viaduct, sometimes nucleus give terrible fps ), but Yukon is smooth as silk, so there sth wrong with those maps. Well I was experimenting a bit with configs, you can gain most fps by lowering texture details as low as possible, turning off textures filtering ( game will look like quake1 on software rendering ), turning off gibs, dead ragdolls, lowering lightning settings. Since source engine depends mostly on CPU you can try overclocking CPU, also try D3D Overrider from Riva Tuner, might help gain some fps on nvidia cards.

Best for better FPS: Buy decent gfx card and/or GPU... the source engine really doesn't need much powah!

Thanks for teh tips i actually seem to get about 10-15 fps more. Looks like shat but hey its all about the gameplay right :p

I think you can make it look reasonable on dx8, that uses less resources. I use mainly everything on low but not so low that everythings goes all squarey with weird shading.

Engi update:

- Engineer dispenser get replaced by a peg with hats. You can now hang any hat on this peg.
- Engineer teleporter gets replaced by a bus ticket. This ticket will take you to the nearest hat shop so you can shop till your heart is content! This system will use microtransactions
- Sentrygun gets replaced by a robot version of William Tell. This robot will consistently shoot people through the hat and there is a chance that William will miss and make a headshot. On level 1 the headshot will be 100 hp damage, on level 2 it will be 150 and on level 3 it will be 225. Fires 1 arrow per 5 seconds. (Note, the pyro can put these arrows on fire, to increase the damage further by 75).

Pyro's Beanie, mostly useless for me, least played class, just fooling around with it from time to time, or during warmup.
Trophy Belt and Proffesional's Panama, 2 sniper hats at once ... I play sniper from time to time at least, but still...
