Or if you go to TPB and look carefully, download it, mount the image, install it, crack it, move the files over to your STEAM folder and use a special crack found somewhere where you can link the game to your STEAM account. (It is advised to use a different STEAM account for this, just in case)

How much did you pay for the game? ;)
Damn cheating ruining every FPS game that gets released.

This isn't even considered cheating by Steam's standards, as it's just a skinmod. Same crap that ruined MW2.



However, they have just updated the EULA to specify that custom skins like that are only allowed in "Valve games".
I know I won't buy it until they ban the crap out of people who use skinhacks.

For those of you who are still not sure whether or not you should buy the game: don't.

The SP part of the game is annoying, with lots of very long cinematics, many of which you cannot skip. The AI sucks, the maps are boring compared to the old CoD games and aren't nearly as thrilling. The storyline is very flawed, and there are lots of things left unanswered.

The MP maps are very bland, with huge unfurnished rooms and large open areas with too little cover. It's like they looked at CS:S for map designing references. If you thought the MW2 spawn system sucked, you DEFINATELY don't want to try this game.

Oh, and you can say what you want about the MW2 lobby system, but it worked. It was very easy to join games as a team, and play together. In Black Ops, just JOINING the same server as your friend is a challenge. If you finally make it into his/her server, theres a 50/50 chance you will be placed on the opposite team, with no chance of changing teams :/

Although Ill agree the bots are dumb, its no different to any COD game ive played - the point is true but makes it no worse than any previous COD.

SP worked absolutely fine for me; and although the cinematic scenes are long - they do add to the game. I personally enjoyed the effort that was put into the SP, especially towards the end compared to some COD games ive played. Of course my opinion is very biased due to the time (settings) that it is in, i prefer it to MW1/2.

MP you can join your friends through the friends server browser, its not awesome with no team switch, but I dont mind playing with or vs my friends.
As for maps, once again personal taste, I love the settings and I love the maps I have played.

Overall there are issues, but honestly I think its worth the punt.

Okay, shouldn't a sniper rifle kill a target in one shot if you hit his chest? I'm desperately trying to quickscope but it's ridiculous to need two shots for torso hits.

Dont play non hardcore games, they're bs. And I dont agree with all spike's points, maps are very good ( well launch and nuketown arent ) and singleplayer was much better than MW2.

Agree with spike on most points, especially in regards to the narative, but i will give treyarch credit for trying to do something different with there story telling, COD:WAW was a good game, but the story was ok, but still very generic, black ops is trying to do something different, but it gets very choppy with nugget of gameplay between long, immersion breaking cutscenes. Remember COD4 had practically no cutscenes apart from the IGC with price killing the iraqy dude in the barn. It seemed abit to filler and not enough killer. I noticed with the set pieces too, that they have tried to emulate certain original ideas from mw2, like the slow mo knife, and gun quicktime events, and they are good, just not fundamentally original.

The mp is a bit bland, but its fun and nice that you can make ur personal setup pretty quickly :) plus cod MP games are always like crack to me :ugly:

Cinematics are skippable btw, but only after the game finished loaded the next level in the background. :P
You could as well add "no loading times" as positive point instead. :ugly:

We had some nice laughs tonight, altough Dekar got banned from best server for tk :ugly: HQ is a mess, people keep spawning in front of enemies and vice versa :X As for playercards people do some epic cards

You can QS? It's quite the pain you know.

Plus you need several shots in the torso to kill with any weapon not just the sniper rifles. Headshot is the only way to go down in one shot.

All unsilenced siper rifles should kill with an upper torso hit, but I think there is a bug that they can survive headshots. Experienced it myself on hardcore that a headshot from melee range with silenced FAL didnt put my enemy down.

Hahaha, oh gosh! I thought the HC in the server names meant something like "We only take breaks from this game for ecstasy and crack cocktails". Okay, now I know why sometimes my HUD was gone and stuff. :demm:

At least now I know how to filter servers. Though I gotta admit, the headless chicken running on the normal servers is pretty fun as well. :mrgreen:
