@Rele
Yeh, they played him tactically, not like a flowchart Ken. :/ I need to do some research on the fight.

Speaking of which, what links have you guys got? I have:

I for my part haven't lost a single fight against Gouken yet and I played some. :-D

Luckily he lacks a Shoryuken except for the Ultra/Super and his normal moves come out really slowly. The only thing players like to spam is his demon-flip like move (SRK + Kick) that can be either a throw, an overhead or a sweep - considering the angle of the attack it's luckily oh-so-predictable.

His slide-on-the-ground punch attack is absolutely ridiculously crappy outside of combos and yet scrubs seem to use it over and over again. He's also very slow.

By the way - I just checked and Gouken is apparently a 6-4 match-up for you, so there must be a way, even though I'm not quite familiar with playing Rose.

As to links:

http://evo2k.com/live/

One of the biggest tournaments in the world (the famous Daigo vs Justin parry video comes from a previous edition of it) transmitted live.

I watched it until 6:30 a.m. today. :-D
Tonight the top 8 matches will be shown (starting at like 4 a.m. :-D) and the first one will be... Daigo vs Justin. :-D

BTW - not a single Sagat in the Top 8. :-D
OK, Ricky Oritz sometimes plays Sagat but he mains Boxer (strange combination by the way :-P).

Winners Bracket:
Justin Wong (Rufus, Abel)
Daigo Umehara (Ryu)
Ed Ma (Akuma)
Eduardo "Vvv scrub" Perez-frangie (Boxer)

Losers Bracket:
Ricky Ortiz (Boxer, Sagat)
Takashi "Dan from Japan" Hukushi (Ryu)
Sanford "Santhrax" Kelly (Akuma)
Long "ShadyK" Tran (Akuma)

Yeah, followed a bit but not live lol xD
Ric "Saqs" Collins is in the winners semis as Rose. :4 Or have the charts not been updated yet? I see Daigo's supposed to be playing Ricky Tam. :P

They haven't been updated. The only players remaining are the ones I listed above...

Did some more online fights yesterday at 23:30.

* There was a Viper again! Beat her playing with like 5 fps. Awesome slomo action.
* One Akouma... was a really nice close fight. Beat him 2:1 after loosing 1st round and each of the other 2 with very low health.
* With one guy I played with random(!) players.. lost as Zangief vs his Seth. :/
* Lots of Ryus which don't have ever played against Guile. One was even running away all the time!
* Still don't like Sagats.

I also played mah first championchip... but only played third with the 2nd try.

Can please someone tell me that this does NOT mean that my PC only uses 103 out of 256 possible MB from my GPU? >.<

It shows you how much RAM SFIV uses - it doesn't have high requirements. For both my demised GF8800GTX (768MB) and now the Radeon HD4850 it uses a similar amount to what you're showing.

P.S. Man, your game looks like shit. :-D

I would recommend getting a new graphics card rele :ugly: (Yes, I am trying to be annoying)

And why doesnt the game use more RAM then if I have plenty over and I have to make my game look like shit to run it smoothly? :<

RAM just stores stuff for quick access, it can't process anything I believe. The game only has small maps and two models to load per map, so there isn't much to use up RAM space. I don't quite know what RAM does in regard to games, compared to the GPU memory.

Because the GPU can't take a higher load so it has no use for the leftover memory available. Like Minimoose said, RAM is used to store stuff not to compute.
What you could try is to overcloak the GPU.

Post subject:  Re: Street Fighter IV

To be even more precise - RAM on graphics cards is mostly used for texture processing. If you want to run games in higher resolutions it usually means loading higher resolution textures. Most games have several texture sizes that scale according to the resolution you chose - prime example is the mat_picmip setting in the Source Engine although there are very few high resolution textures e.g. in TF2 and hence this setting will mostly do nothing below -1, except for some huge ass world textures that nobody ever pays attention to anyways. ;-)

So, higher resolutions will stress your graphics RAM as much as your actual GPU - on lower resolutions, especially something like 720x480 as shown in your screenshot, it's basically a "the goggles, they do nothing" kind of affair (and also the reason why my HD4850 fares better than my old card even though it only has 512 MB RAM. ;-).

Okay okay, I understood.

Topic Change: Seems like there was a sf3 3s tournament at evo 2k9 as well but I cant seem to find the stream on demand. Someone got a link?

The sf4 finals were awesome, Lim-Dul. Thanks for recommending :P

Can we spend some of the donations to get Rel a new gfx card? I mean... I just cannot take such scary screenshots anymore. If I buy a new one in the next weeks, I'll send you my old one... :ugly:

No, these finals weren't shown on the big screen, I think. Just like all the matches before the SFIV semi-finals.

Funnily enough the SFIII 2on2 tournament was in the end the only title Justin managed to grab even though before Evo2k9 he boasted how he would take 3 titles and beat Daigo's record of 2. ;-)

Zangief rocks :D
I'm playing 1 day with him and i can do better than Ryu with who I play from start :P
I beat Ryu at versus on Hard Normal 11 times in a row. I still can't beat Seth at arcade on medium though... It's lame every fight till Seth being pretty easy but him being hard no matter what :?

Post subject:  Re: Street Fighter IV

Nah, it's been always like that. In SFIII after a while you were breezing through all fighters only to need several attempts at Gill who was just as cheap if not cheaper than Seth.

I mean - normal attacks that do chip-damage? Three hit combos that do more damage than supers? THREE supers available at all times, two of which take about 80% life and one that lets Gill resurrect himself?

ARGH!

Yea, Justin being the prick as we know him. You could also see how he jumped up after every round he won and cheering as if he just won the title. Luckily Daigo had his "In ya face"-day

Yep - Justin is one of these. Luckily he wasn't a sore loser and took the defeat like a man. ^^
His shenanigans between rounds like running around and waving his hands in the air even cost him losing the charge at the start of a match since he didn't sit down quickly enough - what a moron. ;-)
