Honestly, that never occurred to me as a possibility.  But anyway, I did a quick googling and it seems McDonalds uses "liquid eggs", which are basically egg whites, that have water mixed in them (to save money, longer shelflife apparently, larger volume etc) with some yellow egg food coloring and flavoring. So it's definitely not a real egg, but not exactly made of powder either.
