I'm in the minimoose camp in that I didn't finish either of them. I just didn't find the atmosphere and gameplay appealing. The change of scene in BS3 may be fun, I suppose.

I played both 1 and 2 on my friends XBOX and enjoyed playing each one. The first one was pretty interesting since I enjoyed the creepy atmosphere, the awesomely dressed and crazy splicers, and the general plot of the story. I am probably very new to the whole video gaming scene, but I really haven't seen another plot like Bioshock's anywhere else, except for that in Atlas Shrugged which I sortof read in high school :ugly: . I also enjoyed the second game with running around as a new character, as well as a new plot that was pretty original in my opinion.

But like I said, I am pretty new to the whole video gaming scene :P

Perfectly reasonable, except at the start of your posts you call who ever disagrees with you a moron.

Really? Did I? And where did that happen? I took the piss out of Balls and he does it to me. It's called banter. I insulted no one bar Pandorum whose post was fucking stupid

This shit again? Really? How many times are people like you gonna try this shit on before you finally realise it does not stick. Do you even know what condescending means? I ask because your comment is erroneous and makes no sense at all. But way to join in with Pandorum derailing the thread. Well fucking done.
Lets run through this, condescending can be described as:

"Acting in a way that betrays a feeling of patronizing superiority"

I think telling someone to ignore someone else's post because they are fanboys constitutes as condescending, it was plural so not only directed at balls. Even your post I'm quoting now is condescending. I would say my point is pretty well done; stop trying to undermine people's posts with your shit. Thanks, I'll stop posting now since no one will concede in an internet argument.

Of course the post you just quoted was patronising! Do I actually need to explain irony to you as well?

If the entire basis of "every post you make is condescending" was my quote at the start about fanboys, then its time for you to sit down in the shade, mate, 'cos you're done. :D

First up the level of hype that surrounds BS1 is only exceeded by the hype that surrounded Vista - and all of it is uninformed.
Second, do I really have to start scattering my posts with idiotically grinning smilie faces before you take the humour that is clearly present withint in the way it is intended? REALLY? :18

lol we are back to vista again!

I'm not a fanboy btw, BS1 was a good game, sure it ripped of systemshock a bit, and it had its issues, but the art style is amazing, the sound is brilliant, and the gameplay is FPS with the added benefit of the plasmids etc which I enjoy alot because i am a FPS fanboy... oh.. so I am a fan boy :S

The Necromancer (4970)
The case of BS1 vs BS2 (notice the abbreviation? ;-) is a similar one to L4D1 vs L4D2.

Is BS2 a better game than BS1 in every sense? Probably. IF there never had been a BS1. Bioshock introduced a pretty original and immersive environment and re-introduced the mechanics of such gems as System Shock 2 and perhaps Deus Ex to the newer generation of games.
Bioshock 2 re-uses 90% of its predecessors assets and provides absolutely nothing new apart from a few tweaks here and there and a tacked-on, uninspired multiplayer mode but tweaks a full new game do not make.

It's like saying Diablo II with the Lord of Destruction expansion is better than Diablo II alone - which is true. ;-)

I enjoyed BS1 although I still haven't finished it, the Big Daddy running after me scared the shit out of me so I have not returned to play it. But I did enjoy the game. I don't have BS2 as I wanted to finish BS1 first and BS3 does look pretty hot with it being up in the sky an'all
