Yeah I'm not comfortable with the fact we've not actually seen the body, it's almost like it never happened. I seen a little footage of a blood soaked room, but that's not really closure. They claim to have photos of the body, maybe not releasing the photos imediatley is a wise move.

The picture of the dead Osama is all over the internet (I'm surprised no one has seen it yet) but it's almost definitely doctored.
I've seen it on a few new sites so I'm not sure if it's some random shopped picture or if it has been released by the US government.

yeah, al jazeera was very good when it came to the egyptian revolution. not nearly as balanced as the bbc, imo, but it's definately a refreshing angle.

if there's anything i can add, it's that i'm glad that they didn't go in before the royal wedding. wouldn't have taken much for some nutcase to throw a grenade in among the crowds on pall mall.

also, whilst the Pakistan intelligence agency knowing *nothing* about his presence in the country is pretty suspicious, i'm still sympathetic to the governments position. Pakistan has little to gain from supporting an agency that has done more damage to their people than any other; far more likely that there are individuals, or groups of people, within the government who are corrupt or who have sympathies with Bin Laden and co, rather than the government as a whole. also, it seems unlikely that they knew nothing about the raid - if four unidentified helicopters are seen swarming into the airspace near one of their militairy establishments, are they seriously not going to fight back without prior knowledge that they're friendlies?

so, on the whole, it's a symbol of the US reasserting their world authority, seeing as it's been dwindling - Russia are already criticising them for their limited open co-operation, it's the same old power game. whilst China being on the up might make it irrelevant, in the meantime, the success of this 'purely American' (apparantly) op = US got its swag back.

On topic,I wasn't sure if it was real or not, I'm not experienced with image editing, but as an old hand drawing "maniac" I still noticed something fishy about it. Like I said as a joke 1st time I saw it "by now he's taking some long term vacations on Awai and playing golf with Obama".

The problem is most of these people often talk more shit than the US government does.

Obama rang me up and he said Yo, and I said yo man, are you sure you killed that Bin Laden bloke? He said fo' sho, I mean saying some of the big boys from the white house (his pals from texas obviously) have informed him, can people really take his word for that? If they have killed him they'll release the photos/videos at a date that wont inflame the situation, if they don't, then well maybe it really is bullshit.

his point was that he is dead, not that he is alive... and this is just a way of keeping obama in for another term.
It's very plausible; and the information we are getting from the main news stations is a bit, well, free flowing? they never normally give us this much detail about tactical operations. When people want a lie to be believable, they create details, 25 navy seals, 3 floors, who they kill on each floor, how many helicopters etc. You always have to be a little sceptical about what the mainstream media tries to jam down your throat.

It appears that they keep changing story and details, and while that would make some people believe it was all a hoax, it convinces me further it actually happened. If it was all planned out they wouldn't be contradicting and and falling over each other to get a story out. The fact the guy in the video pointed out poorly shopped photo of Bin Laden makes them just as silly as the news stations who used them.

When the man's up to no good, we wont know about it, all these crazy conspiracy threorists jumping at any oppertunity they can get just does nothing for their credibility. Media, it's all bullshit no matter where you hear it, it will always be bias, and whether it's the BBC or the crazy lady off youtube, you can easily be bought into their foolishness.

Of course, he is a symbol, for both sides, Al Qaeda had him down as the hero, the US as a the boogeyman, both sides use him for propaganda and fear. He will be remembered in the history books for his crimes and for his beliefs. I find it amusing how both sides also missed out the fact that the man had severe health issues which would infringe on that symbolic nature of power/evil.

It wont take long till someone tries to carry the torch, and make his own page in the history books.
