just watched the dark knight again... and i'm left slightly stunned by how damn good it is. i love what the marvel/DC films are doing in making superhero films about more than explosions and silly costumes, but none of them come close to Christopher Nolan has done. the whole joker being evil for the hell of it, man-who-wants-to-watch-the-world-burn, and what makes a 'good guy' a good guy, and the commentary on human nature in general - the way they deal with it, it's more like literature than cinema. which makes me geek out like a loony. and when the directing and acting and score (or, often, lack thereof) and lighting and casting and editing and everythingfuckingelse does it justice then it gets me seriously excited about what film-makers can do.

so what i'm trying to say is that if Rises is anywhere near as good as TDK then i'm probably gonna have a small, beautiful crisis in the middle of the cinema :-11

Well said brains, plus nolan doesnt use CGI to makeup for shit stories and characters like most marvel films (ironman and the incredible hulk was fucking ace though)

i dont think rises will top TDK tbh, ledger was a legend, did an amazing job, and the film was so fucking hyped up etc that it will be near impossible to top! tom hardy will be fucking badass though!

Well it's nice to see Nolan is keeping the movie in the "more realistic" line, Catwoman not having furry traits. :wink:

But I'm not so sure about the actress, I've seen her like in one bad comedy, so I'm a bit worried.

I liked Anne Hathaway's performances in Brokeback Mountain and Alice in Wonderland. Though The series already has a bad casting history with Maggie Gyllenhaal. We'll see.
