The police will be armed in london tonight with rubber bullets, but i think its too little too late!!!! I seen an interview on the news before of this twat from Birmingham, who said and i quote " well all my xmas shopping is done"!!!!! What a TWAT!!!! The reporter should of just produced a gun and shot the fucker!!!!

Been following BBC's coverage of this. Why are they calling these riots though? It's burglary and robbery from what I can tell.

I don't quite understand the police's approach to all this though. Not escalating the conflicts is of course a goal, but leaving those scum do what they want will only cause more damage on the long term. They lose all, if any, respect/fear for authority. And along with them, others will as well. This is especially important since they are mostly youths!

I say kick them hard and if the conflict escalates bring the army in. They will stop. Leaving them do what they want for now will not really solve anything.

Made it home in one piece :4 I decided to splash out on a taxi rather than the bus, it seemed I would have been trapped in centre the by the police if I tried to get to the bus stop. Seems that the same thing is happening in just down the road anyway.

Very grim scene in brum with all the police standing around the station, everyone looks worried, and the shutters are down everywhere. Absolute cretin, I wish the worst for them.

Manchester has been obliterated by mindless looters, I feel sick and powerless to know this is going on 5 minutes down the road from where I live and the fact that the people doing this live near me.

I would love to think the police could do more to stop this but in a time when political correctness has gone crazy and social networking is king the fear for being accused of police brutality and being plastered all over the media must be a massive issue in how they approach this especially after recent riots.
