I hope the pyro turns out to be a mutant cat. They even gave him whiskers as a prop But on a serious note I prefer the mystery behind the pyro. |

Just posting this up for those interested. There's been a load of junk items dropping into people's backpacks recently and thank god there's a little article that's been put up to save me the trouble, it's missing a few interesting tidbits, but whatever, http://lambdageneration.com/posts/team- ... -and-more/ Now today they added another undocumented update making it so that when you craft the banana peel it comes up with a numbered error, with a strange code, it turns out these codes made QR codes and when scanned they took you to pages like this http://tf2.com/w8cs1ednpphy.jpg after a lot of work by the community, getting people to try crafting their bananas to get the codes (differs every account) and every code was needed. Eventually they pieced it together to get this: http://i.imgur.com/9jjnD.jpg Poopy Joe has been referenced before in comics and stuff, but I'm not sure what reward the community will get for finding it. Impossible So to summarise: -In the last month, many things added to schema with 'MvM' in. The numbers in foundry appear to spell out MvM (man vs machine) -19th 7 Junk items were added to tf2, one mysteriously suggesting a date (22nd June) -20th The Eliminating Impossible set for the medic was updated, and with it equipped you can see alternative descriptions for the items. The descriptions seem to be missing letters, and putting them together make quotes from the 12th Sherlock Holmes book. -21st Trying to craft the banana now makes strange codes to put together a PNG for a QR code, when scanned they link to pieces of a 2 page story. I honestly can't say if it was a coincidence, but the blog popped up the same time the first QR code was put together and used. if valve launches at 8:00 PST like they (apparantly) usually do, we'll get something in 1 hour 50 minutes from now, 5pm CET. if this is a week-long update then we probably won't get Meet the Pyro until Friday, but still, BUCKLE UP |

I'm thinking we'll see something closer to 20:00 or 23:00 onwards, and that meet the pyro will be on the Thursday like with the Uber update. I remember the uber update in paticular starting really late, it's 6am at Valve HQ right now |

three-day (at least) update! and Meet the Pyro on Wednesday! great stuff edit: attack team stands on the 'final cap', which is a Hightower style raising platform, to get the intel into the spaceship - that makes sense right? |

You know looking at what is a 3 day update with day 1 being a gamemode, I'm not sure we'll be getting our robots yet, that could be coming halloween or something I supppose. So Meet the Pyro is confirmed for wednesday, and I think it will be something like grabbing a neutral flag, and bringing it to a control point, yeah. They've got custom maps for that, this might just be what Valve's made of it. This links to those banana QR codes leading to that 2 page text about Saxton Hale being questioed about Poopy Joe, which is quite cool. |

What, no. They expected to release on the 25th birthday of TF2 but as they stopped working on Half Life 2 they could release it far earlier! |

I'm just hoping it doesn't become the next TC or Arena mode. They're a lot better at mapmaking now though I think, Barnblitz and Foundry are superbly made maps in my opinion, despite foundry dragging out quite a bit. Also there's a banana peel at the bottom of the main update page, extends on what was found from the QR codes from the banana error messages. |
