Woohoo - the Beta re-opened today. You can sign-up and old players can simply log-in again. There's a basic friend-joining feature now so go ahead and post your nicknames.

My two characters so far are LimDul and Chaeska.

They did very well on class balance (finally not everybody can heal/repair vehicles unless they use multiple-use items from the store) and the missions make much more sense.

Ah - there's a small test-banner showing a "server hosted by" message so I assume that people will be able to setup third-party servers in the future (providing an answer to the "What game should we host next?" question ^^).

I bet it will be EA nazi politics again. Own servers, sure, unranked and fooked.

I don't think so. BF:H has a match-making system similar to XBox Live and L4D, so joining servers is transparent to the user. The gameplay can't be detached from the stats as well since your characters acquire skills, weapons and outfits with the in-game currency or skill points so a server without access to the global DB would be pretty pointless.

Have you actually played it? It's quite a lot of fun. The gameplay has been kep intact from previous BF titles but has been simplified a bit. Also, the fous is not so much on your pr0-aim-skillz but the proper use of (character/class) skills, especially between teammates.

You mean "meh" at the game? Seriously - have you played it? I hate it when people pass judgement on games, both positive and negtive, before actually testing them... That might be my professional ethics speaking through me. :-P

I mean - I was among the first peple to express my concerns about this title, pointing out that this might be EA trying to rip-off TF2 (cartoon gaphics and all) but I was shown the errors of my ways. Your mileage might vary but at least give it a shot and diss the flaws later...

I just got into the beta yesterday and the game is quite fun, with more maps it would be much better.
I have a lvl9 National commando named Marmelada, anyone else still playing?

I got my beta key last week and I've been enjoying it.. it doesn't feel like tf2 at all
I'm 20xp short of level 8, there's only 2-3 maps but it's fun.. though it feels reaaaally slow
I hate it when you spawn bad and everybody took the cars or just drive off in front of you: one of the maps has only one car at spawn.. so when the game starts only 3 (if you're lucky and one guy doesn't steal the car and runs off) can take the car and by the time you got anywhere.. they've capped two flags already >_<

Oh man - they deleted all the previous heroes again - I was hovering around the level 20 mark (a bit below, like 17-18) with some of them. :-\

Played now a couple of rounds and except of connection loosing it looks and plays pretty fine. The match making is a bit sucky, but I really like it. Feels a bit like TF2 meets mybrute. :mrgreen:

As the freshly created characters are final you can now meet PfcBanana and FvMetternich in beta and later in the game. :4

@Hosting: You can rent ranked servers from a couple of providers now.
