Hehe yeah, this is always my tactic as a Pyro when I manage to get the jump on a Demoman. I usually try and get right up in their grill and chase them as they run backwards. I also try to stay at an angle so I'm almost running sideways as this seems to stop them hitting me with a sticky. It's just incredibly satisfying when you torch the bastard and run away with full health.
I mean, I kill them by the dozens but nothing is more cheesy than seeing a crit sticky flying towards you and knowing you are dead no matter what class you are. Or a normal sticky if you have 125 health.... My usual approach to killing demoman is try and get them offgaurd and wtfpwn them with my scout/spy. If they notice me and start firing stickies I just pull back and forget about it all together. Hell when I'm playing Heavy and have a medic I only really have to pull back when a demoman comes and fires sticky nades all over the place or there are a gazillion bullets, rockets etc flying towards me. Stickies are just too powerfull as an offensive weapon. And yes, I take great pleasure into batting demoman to death, because thats the only range the sticky n00bs can't hurt you POINT BLANK. Better hope they don't have any skill in aiming the normal nades else you get instapopped as a scout anyhow. |

Demoman is fine. If you can't kill him don't say that he's op. If you see a crit rocket coming it's better? Or a tanked backburner pyro that can kill a heavy from behind in less than a sec? Every class has it's strengths and weaknesses. The only thing that's annoying facing a demoman is the nade spamming at a map like dustbowl. At cp maps there isn't any problem. |

actually a crit rocket coming towards you is way better, you can dodge them and they are gone, the stickies stay..

Valve disagrees. They call stickies winbombs. That is a clear indication i'd say. 1 crit sticky launched near the feet of a heavy (which isn't hard to do at all) will kill him. Or alternatively usually 2 normal stickies do the same job. Effectively forcing the heavy to stop firing if he wants to have a chance at living. Stickies are just far too usefull. The only thing that's annoying facing a demoman is the nade spamming at a map like dustbowl. At cp maps there isn't any problem. Every class can get killed, but Demoman has an advantage over just about every class but the spy. Everything else just place stickies and blow them up or retreat to safety if they are smart enough not to run into it, of course you would have to see them coming. |
