@Lim: IIRC aren't Mamba and Maoam the same... they are coming from different manufacturers... so you can get both at least here in Germany.

Well, I didn't have statistics as a seperate course, but I had it as a part of Math, where I had only 1s (=A)Heterogenous equilibria is easy too, got a 1 as well. Quantum mechanics was the hardest course in that semester, but I still had the best grade of my year, a 2. Material science shouldn't be too hard as well. We got a really shitty teacher in that course, and everyone got either a 3 or 4. But in principle it's easy as well. Organic chem is easy as well. Had the best grade of my class in that year too. So, as you can see I could do your exams, but I don't want a BMW, I want an Audi!

Ah, indeed, I checked now. Maoam is by Haribo and Mamba is by Storck. We don't have Maoam over here though although we have lots of Haribo sweets...

Pickup truck? What the heck do you need a pickup truck for in Europe? It's totally useless as demonstrated on Top Gear (don't recall the episode number). |

Ey, what else do we not need? We don't need candy either, or do we? It's all in the eye of the beholder. So, me like truck, me want truck Now that thing is just some rapin pure awesomness, not only to be a truck, but to have 500 bhp, 8.3 Liter V10 , but you could get it with a 10 Liter V12 P.S. I want the truck in black btw, just simple black and I'll settle for standard rims. |

There was a report in TV these days about a German importer of US cars. He bought such an used Mustang for 12000$ in the USA and goes to resell it here for three times more money. I wanna have a truck too:

I like Mustangs. But only the ones Lim-Dul posted. I'm not a great fan of older cars! Dodge also has the Viper, I <3 that one. But yeah, I think some American cars handle like crap... Although I'd like to test by myself. |

Yeah, I actually watched a few episodes of this and gave up. The series features some of the worst and most infantile writing EVER, not to mention the most abysmal acting I've seen in a while. The only thing even remotely resembling an upside is Val Kilmer providing the voice of KITT but even he can't outweigh the idiotic script.every1 who revives knight rider shall burn in hell~ The car itself (the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR) is pretty awesome (read my previous post about me potentially buying one) BUT KITT can transform (sic!) now into pretty much any car... from the Ford back catalog - blatant product placement for the lose. |

Ha, ha - yeah, that's a telltale sign that the TV series/movie you're watching is bad because the authors have to lure you with hot chicks (or hot guys for the female audience, although that might be small in a series centered about an American supercar) and forced love stories or sexual tension - that, however, doesn't replace a good script in my book. =) By the way - I watched the 24 season 7 prequel and to my surprise it was quite good (God, I missed some good acting after stuff like Chuck or Knight Rider) but from what I gather it didn't have much in common with the upcoming season, which will take place in America (not in Africa like the prequel). I wonder if season 7 will be less ridiculous than the previous seasons in 24 which escalated into comic-book style kill counts and villains. I mean - the first season was brilliant, with a novel story-telling style, a smart and believable plot and people NOT using helicopters to get to the next bus stop only to keep up the real-time premise. Then, the threats became more and more ridiculous - biological weapons, one nuke, SEVERAL nukes, DOZENS of nukes in the form of nuclear power plants... The only step up from this would be an alien invasion. ;-) namelessone wrote: I couldn't agree more and I only watched the pilot - the stupidity in it was just amazing... Cancel it already
Yeah, at this point I always ask myself - how can you fuck up a series about a cool guy (by contemporary standards =) in a cool car busting bad guys? It virtually writes itself! But no, the new Knight Rider has to be some kind of emotional pussy, half of the show is concerned about his relationship with his ex - FUCK HER ALREADY AND GET OVER IT! Another quarter is about the sexual tension between other characters like this computer nerd *whatshisname* and the other hot chick *whatshername*... The Last quarter is about KITT trying to understand humans or trying to BECOME human - something that is completely absent in the original series - KITT is simply a cool sidekick of Michael Knight (or the other way round) - nobody's interested in his emotional problems. This, by the way, is a common problem in current American TV series or even newer seasons of older series. Half the time is spent on some emotional/social struggle bullshit which American writers are sadly too dumb to represent correctly... Name one exception! Battlestar Galactica - I WANT TO SEE EPIC SPACE BATTLES, NOT FRIGGIN' FATHER-SON CONFLICTS etc.! Prison Break - I WANT TO SEE COOL PRISON ESCAPE PLANS, NOT SARAH AND MICHAEL EXCHANGING SAD LOOKS BECAUSE ONE OF THEM HAS A TUMOR! Jesus Christ! The list goes on...

I still think 24 is an awesome series! Season 1 and 2 where great, 3 and 4 not quite as much but still ok, 5 was propably the best, 6 was ok. About Night Rider: it's sad that a remake of a hit series by a major network with alot of money turns out to be this shitty. If you compare that to Battlestar Galactica, a remake with limited funds on a small network, which turns out to be one of the best series ever... |

| Post subject: | Re: aaaaargh |
Yeah - I agree that 24 is cool - hence I'm still watching and gave up on Knight Rider. :-P Battlestar Galactica - watching it as well BUT the series is very uneven. Some episodes are awesome and some are so crappy that I have to skip past half of the pathetic dialog between major characters. ;-) Still, at least the acting is better than average and if we were to yet again compare it to some other crap like Chuck (*shudder*) it shines brightly like a diamond. =) You know what is sad? The fact that Paramount rode Star Trek to death by trying to suck out too much money out of it. I mean - think about it - in the late '90s we had THREE different series running in parallel. TNG movies, last seasons of DS9 and the incredibly annoying (IMHO) VOY. It's no wonder that ENT failed commercially even though I valued it highly - people were fed up with so much Star Trek. Now the new Star Trek prequel movie (sigh) is coming out and I dread to think what it'll be like. Probably some "emotional origins story" again, which I'm totally uninterested in... Ah - ST:ENT had one of the worst series finales EVER - so much so that I officially refuse to acknowledge the last episode and see the Terra Prime arc as a fitting, albeit premature ending. Why they produced the final episode and crammed in Riker and Troy to supposedly please hard-core fans is beyond me... Speaking of killing franchises or messing up series - George Lucas really tries his worst to fuck up Star Wars or more recently Indiana Jones, doesn't he? When an animated series, Star Wars: Clone Wars, the original by the utterly brilliant Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack!) is better than the three prequel episodes put together (certainly better directed and acted ;-) you know you failed... And now they're even messing up Clone Wars by remaking it as a crappy CGI cartoon! WTF? Why would they do that? The original is absolutely brilliant! Leave it alone! |
