Well there are 3 reasons for team stacking:
  • 1)you want to play at the same team as your friends
2)you want to be in the team with the most possibilities to win
3)you care too much about your stats
I think the third category consists mostly of skilled players,so an admin could turn off the rank system temporary and make them behave. :P

I realise of course its not a proper solution to the problem and i spoke about disabling just to tease some of you :P

The 4th reason 4) you press auto join and ends up with more skilled players than the other team ;)

People still say you are though ^^

You could let players disable stat tracking (also would make people sign up for SpA points), just because its there I like to have a half decent rank but if I could turn it off I would, since then I could go on the old scout batting spree :D. I try to go on the teams against the other SpA members, although on occasion I do like to play on the same team as them since whats the point of a community/clan if your always playing against them :|. (Just look at my top kills vs. single people, most are SpA).

Rank is irrelevant if you take into account that this is a team game. A pyro who sticks to a sentry protecting it from spies and incoming damage is a very valuable member of the team even if he ends the round with 5 points.
Thank you thank you.
Your are al to kind....

First i like to thank mommy who supported me my whole life.

This isn't contribuating to the conversation at all. If you have a opinion post it, If you think the teams are fine, fair enough but perhaps you could have posted a reason instead of saying, "Stop crying" despite how cool it makes you look. :?

Small wonder, that dustbowl reaches stage3 about 3 times a month, and goldrush is no different

And when either do reach stage 3 they suck because all the red team has to do is have 3-4 demo's (or 2 decent ones) then the game is a stalemate, unless the teams are stacked ridiculously then it sucks anyway...

I still think people being able to disable their stat tracking is an option :| Shouldn't be hard to implement? (I know nothing of the difficulties of doing this kind of stuff just seems like it could be done quite easily)

I wish they would give the Sniper an AWP then we could include that old chestnut into the conversation

After playing an hour with mainly unbalanced team and watching the stacking: Only one player (Thx aduket!) changed from the strong team to the weak team. So I don't think that self-balancing is an option.

Well, one or two players are not going to manage to balance a team because, if the team is in such a bad shape, then it's likely that more than just ze killing that's going wrong with it. Starting with setup.

Anyway, we do get some very wonderful rounds on these servers, and pretty often I'd say. With people playing for the team and such. Really awesome fun. But it also brings me back to the "I always teamstack" part. :P

2 player from good to bad mean a total "difference" of 4 in team comparison. Weird... you get what I want to say? It's quite early... :D

And if the 2 help that the bad team doesn't simply get wiped (by not dying that fast) they help with the overall balancing.

I pick Red because ever since I started playing TF2 over a year ago this is what I did and I don't change habits. I don't care how many people I kill (im a Medic so not very high), how my stats are affected, how many points I get, I just pick red...simple. I don't stack or moan about stacking, stats, or Demomen, I just play the game and enjoy it....shabba 8)

Same here, for reasons going all the way back to the ol' Red Alert days. I favoured Soviet.

Actually me and crovax had a team of idiots at the start, they were on like 25 points and me and crovax got to like 90 points each (Kritzkrieg + Rockets = eOrgasm) ^^ We managed to win badwater basin when the other team was miles better overall. So I think 2 players can make a big difference :)

Nearly, but it can be countered if they have a good blowback pyro who is being healed (can survive against shotgun at enough range and nearly impossible to kill with rockets :x)

Haha... I'm working on it, but my timing still sucks... and noone wants to heal a poor pyro nowadays... if there is any medic and I don't have to take that role. :/

I'm still trying to get the hang of airblast - since it's so hard to know when a soldier is going to fire a rocket at close range, but deflecting a critrocket into his face, especially from a krit soldier, is the best feeling in the world. :D

My best moment were when I deflected a krit soldier's rocket killing him, the medic and some unlucky dude caught in the middle of it. Have a screen to prove it. ;)

Post subject:  Re: Team Stacking

When I approach a soldier i usually try to airblast about 0.5-1s after he sees me, it works from time to time ;)
