You are a soldier vs a heavy/medic combo. The Heavy got buffed to 450hp and he doesnt move or shoot at all. The medic is constantly healing the heavy.Youre standing directly at the heavy and we assume your rocket instantly hits the heavy after shooting for 112dmg. You got a clipsize of 4 rockets and it takes you 4 seconds to shoot all the rockets. If you then fully reload and shoot all the rockets again, it took you 8 seconds for 4 rockets. If you reload one rocket and shoot, it took you 12 seconds to shoot 4 rockets. The medic is healing with 12hp/second. Assuming you dont suffer from self damage and dont get pushed back: a) How long does it take you to kill the heavy if youre standing next to a resupply locker (you never need to reload)? b) How long does it take you to kill the heavy if youre shooting 4 rockets, fully reload and shoot 4 rockets again (assuming you got infinite ammo to reload)? c) How long does it take you to kill the heavy if youre shooting your first 4 rockets, then reload and shoot every rocket singlely (spelling?^^)(assuming you got infinite ammo to reload)? You got 25 minutes after reading this to tell me the answers. Good Luck! ![]() ![]() |

Can you tell me more precise what kind of maths you do? I'm kinda curious right now. ![]() ![]() ![]() Pure Maths is things like trig identities/differentiation (product/quotient rule)/integration (by parts/substitution)/binomial expansion (ones where you have to take constant factors out to get to the form c(1-f(x))^power) Mechanics is things like non-elastic collisions, coeff of friction, work done principles. Mechanics in my physics lessons is mainly mechanics but easier. Maths in chemistry is just addition/subtraction, but its unbelieveably boring due to this... I find pure maths hard since a lot of it is algebraic and means we have to learn things very well, since they get pretty confusing with trig identities. |

Hah, now we know why mini leads the stats. He studies maths so he knows exaclty how to get the most skillpoints since he can abuse the formula! |

They used to use the ELO system, which is the same for chess ranking or something. I don't know what they use now. |

Till version 3.0 they used elo system, now they use something different, what i was able to find is that you have to kill higher ranked players in orded to gain rank. But you cant find any more details, since psychostats official FAQ says "Starting with PsychoStats version 3.1 a new alternative formula is being used that is much more stable and seems to be more accurate overall. This new formula is the default so nothing needs to be done on your part to start using it once you upgrade to v3.1." |

Last time I looked into the code that formula was still Elo-like from the concept (gaining and loosing points depending on the skill of both players). |

If you could only gain skill from killing people of a higher skill, then I would never be able to go up in skill :3

Anyone can work that out, just simple multiplication and addition. I could show you some of the maths I had to do today, although i was doing algebra for 4 hours today so I really can't be arsed to scan it just to prove something ![]() ![]() |

The rest is just boring pure maths. |

If psychostats uses elo then it must be the right description. Chess uses elo it's a lot more complicated then tf2 ![]() Any chess players around? My previous obsession was chess, I'd kick your collective asses at chess! Unlike the previous part of my post, the last part is serious, I'm a kick ass chess player! So? Have I managed to get myself an adversary? |

You are completely wrong.![]() Though you might not need to think as much playing tf2 compared to playing chess, TF2 is a lot more complicated than chess. In chess you have a very limited set of moves and a very simple goal. TF2 has much more freedom and there are a lot more possible moves than in chess. Also the ELO system in chess is used in a 1on1 basis. This system could also work for example in open divisions of TF2 where you have clans competing 1on1 at a time. But for public TF2, where you have 13on13 simultaniously, the ELO system just sucks. |
