The Necromancer (4970)
OK - the cup site doesn't seem to work, so I'll have to seed the bracket myself. No biggie - standard procedure (according to Wikipedia ;-) but instead of rankings we'll take the order of sign-ups, which looks like that (after Scatterbrain's drop out):

1. [SpA]DrMcMoist
2. [SpA]Lim-Dul
3. [SpA]m!gu
4. [SpA]Relentless
5. [SpA]Toresson
6. [SpA]cookye
7. [SpA]Blackhawk
8. [SpA]Cpt.Awesome

Hence the bracket will look like this:
Code:
I. 1. [SpA]DrMcMoist vs 8. [SpA]Cpt.Awesome \
                                                >- V. Winner I. vs Winner II. \
II. 3. [SpA]m!gu vs 6. [SpA]cookye / \
                                                                                   >- VII. Winner V. vs Winner VI.
III. 4. [SpA]Relentless vs 5. [SpA]Toresson \ /
                                                >- VI. Winner III. vs Winner IV. /
IV. 2. [SpA]Lim-Dul vs 7. [SpA]Minimoose! /

I only have time today in the evening or tomorrow afternoon and evening. But you simply can count me as a default win for Lim and play the rest of the tourney.

He'd prolly win anyway
If sf3 would be tf2, lim would be the demoman :ugly:

No, no - if Blackhawk drops out then Minimoose will take his place. No default wins here if we can't help it. And migu, prepare yourself for a beating - cookye is really good. :-P

Also guys - please tick the "record game" checkbox during your matches. It's really cool - I recorded 3 hours of footage yesterday and it just takes up 5 MB!

Much to everybody's surprise I won the first round against Minimoose. :-D
He played the game for the first time ever. ;-)

Result:

[SpA]Lim-Dul 3:0 [SpA]Minimoose!

Here's the demo: http://www.codclan.org/emu/Lim-Dul_vs_Minimoose.7z

Just extract it to your "records" directory in FinalBurn Alpha Shuffle (create it if you don't have it). It should appear in your demo list in kaillera when you choose the "playback" mode.

The Necromancer (4970)
Well - I predict no surprises then. Unlike Relentless, who thinks that shotos are the most overpowered characters ever, I was quite sure that McMoist was the top favorite for first place although I sparred a bit with cookye yesterday and was both impressed with and scared by his skills. :-P

OK - there's still the final and I still got another round ahead of me but from what I heard about McMoist's epic training it will be an easy win for him. :-P

Yeah right. I won't be going into the final with anything but my top game face on.

You hate to lose too much to let me win.

Fortunately so do I when it comes to Street Fighter

The Necromancer (4970)
[SpA]Toresson beat Relentless 3:1 - unexpected! 0_o

However, I avenged him with a 3:0 victory though I can't say it was an easy one - Toresson was playing with a keyboard but he's awesome with linking moves into Supers - he got me twice with that!

Anyways - the final everybody's been waiting for - McMoist vs me. ^^

I blame the lags -.-

And its so impossible to do links and cancels with a gamepad on purpose - I tried it earlier and could only do it once in 20times :/

Of course we do. :-P

Anyways - the winner is... Me? 0_o
I am genuinely amazed - McMoist got better and better with each day and I presumed he would kick my ass. I bet it just wasn't his day.
Code:
I. [SpA]DrMcMoist 3:1 ZxS \
                                           >- V. [SpA]DrMcMoist 3:2 [SpA]cookye \
II. [SpA]m!gu 0:3 [SpA]cookye / \
                                                                                   >- [SpA]DrMcMoist 0:3 [SpA]Lim-Dul
III. [SpA]Relentless 1:3 [SpA]Toresson \ /
                                           >- VI. [SpA]Toresson 0:3 [SpA]Lim-Dul /
IV. [SpA]Lim-Dul 3:0 [SpA]Minimoose! /
Now I'll be accused of organizing the event solely to show off my e-peen but I want to thank everybody who participated! You were great, guys, and some of you would have beaten me, hands down, if they started practicing earlier - migu, Toresson, Relentless - you all are amazing! So is McMoist but I was really surprised by the smooth win in the final. I bet that if cookye went through he could have defeated me. I'll post the demos.

All in all I can't wait for SFIV to come out!

I hope I got some of you people interested in online Arcade gameplay and I hope we will play some more games in future!

The Necromancer (4970)
I'm actually thinking about sending out prizes to McMoist and the guys who finished third. Polish educational children's games. :-D

I re-watched some of the replays and truth be told I went through the tournament basically doing the sweep kick over and over. ;-)
It's kinda embarrassing, really. Especially the last fight with McMoist was funny - I mean, yeah, he lost and I don't want to say that I played crappy but in fact McMoist told me yesterday that he has been practicing linking into his super so I was EXTREMELY scared of him and that actually helped me win the match - I was MUCH more defensive than I am usually and hence his combos didn't connect, even though he is MUCH better with combos than me. I bet that if Yun was only slightly stronger and had a tiny bit more life he would be able to pull of a 3:0 against me.

What I also didn't realize was how close Toresson was actually to beating me - 3:0 might look like a smooth ride but after 3 fights it could and SHOULD have been 2:1 for him. If only he had a gamepad and a bit more practice he would have defended against my cheap sweeps that got me through.

If anything my victory in this tournament should inspire some people to hone their skills even more. The thing with me is - I always reach a high-mid skill level in any given game pretty quickly but then never ever go beyond that - I lack the focus and will to become really good. Hence while I might have won against the likes of Toresson and in some sparring matches against Migu and cookye or Relentless, I am genuinely convinced that in time they might be much better than me.

By the way - here are all my matches - extract the archive in your FBA Shuffle directory (the subdirectory "records" is already included). You can play them back by selecting File -> Play via Kaillera -> 3. Playback in the mode selection menu.

http://www.codclan.org/ccount/click.php?id=4

Just so you know:
- Lim-Dul vs Minimoose is Ken vs Q/Akuma (Gouki)/Urien
- Lim-Dul vs Toresson is Ken vs Akuma (Gouki)/Ryu
- Lim-Dul vs McMoist is Ken vs Yun

The ending of the Minimoose match is funny - I was trying to teach him how to throw fireballs but then I started trying to pull off my Super move while he was mashing his buttons, which I wasn't prepared for - for a while I was receiving an epic beating because of that. :-D

Doubt I will be buying the PC version though.
Anyways, I had a couple of fights with McMoist while he was waiting for his next opponent, and those were really nice, close fights. Loved it.
We really should play from time to time guys. :18
Thanks to those who made this tournament possible too.

Ha, ha! Yes, and it was a genuine beat down. I mean - I wanted to teach you some special moves (hence the punching in the air for some time :-P) but then you pulled off a fireball and, apparently happy with that minor victory, started flailing around with your limbs like a madman and I was taken completely off-guard. It took some time for me to regain my composition. :-P
