Obviously Internet Explorer will still be 9 years behind the rest of the field in taking up the specs so I'll be hacking that shit from my grave, firefox will continue to bloat untill it requires more rescources than Photoshop, and opera will stay looking like a late 90's amature app.. Safari can just fuck off.
Out of curiosity.... which browser do you use?Good stuff from google, exciting time to work on the web. Apart from that, Google Wave will also indeed not work within Opera 10, as the implementation the HTML5 standard with the Presto 2.2 engine is not there yet, which is quite ashame. Any way, hope that I will receive an invite, although I highly doubt it as I have not received one up till now. However if anyone did get an invite, can you describe how it works. Does it work in fluently in practice as it did within the presentations? And how does it perform on 'slow' Internet connections? |

I use Firefox because I can't live without firebug, I mean that sincerly as firebug regulates the oxygen on my life support.Apart from that, Google Wave will also indeed not work within Opera 10, as the implementation the HTML5 standard with the Presto 2.2 engine is not there yet, which is quite ashame. Opera have the ony decent approach to the standards of any of the browsers, no corners cut and nothing released until it works properly. As far as the workgroup goes they often seem to be the only company at the table genuinely interested in the future of the web in that they aren't pushing proprietry software or self interest. |

You know you can get firebug in all browsers?
Firebug lite? yeah but it doesn't really have everything I need. Opera has Dragonfly which is making inroads but I'm a lazy lazy man, I have lots of scripts, custom plugins and shortcuts set up for firebug.. I'll change when I can port it all over.It took me 5 years to stop writing HTML in notepad, still do occasionly and then when I stop I play Big red racing, Little big adventure, Deus Ex or Tribes, I look at a joint and a bottle of scotch and remember a better time.... nostalgia the only heroin I have left. |

As for google wave, I have not yet received an invite. I don't know how you guys are coming up with these times for the release of the invites, but as far as I can see on the google sources, the are shipped on 30 September, and there is no time indication whatsoever. At this moment I highly doubt that I will receive one of these first 100.000 invites. Ah well, I would have to have at least a few additional invites otherwise, as they already stated, wave would not be for me. I wonder where we will see the integration the waves first. |

Got this in my inbox yesterday: Quote:
Thank you for signing up to give us early feedback on Google Wave. We're happy to give you access to Google Wave and are enlisting your help to improve the product.
When I click on the link I get the google wave page with the following message:
To accept your invitation, sign into Google Wave at the following link*: ... Quote: Your Google Account has not yet been activated for Google Wave.
![]() I was excited to try it our just to get disappointed by something that seems to be a bug in the invitation system. There are several users that reported the same issue as I have, but nobody could give them any help. |
