The foul on Robben by Melo was just a total facepalm. Not only did he go in brutally but then kicked him on the ground and tried taking away the ball. -.-
What an ass - and he was the one who shot the own goal in the first place...

Oh man, Germany utterly pwned Argentina... ;-)

I think that if the German "Mannschaft" proves anything it's that you can't build whole teams around one or two star players - sure, they are amazing but more often than not you can track their success back to the partners they have in their clubs. In tournaments like the World Cup you simply have to have a team that is good as a whole, perhaps it's even better to not have MEGA stars - sure, Klose, Podolski, Schweinsteiger and now Müller are very good but they are not in the same league as Messi or Ronaldo - still, it is THEM together that win matches...

I'm stunned here. Stunned. Efficiency truly did win the day, as their counter attacking was just superb. And to think I was backing Argentina to win the Cup. Glad I didn't put any money down on that. Although I'm tempted to put some money on Paraguay going through to the Semi's... Something tells me the Spanish are going to bottle it...

You know, I got nothing against Germany and I couldn't care less if they won the world cup - the fact that the German TV stations speak about nothing else for 3 months IF Germany wins is what pisses me off and what makes me want any other team to win.

But I have to admit, they completely obliterated Argentinia today. Very solid game.

Heh. You know, for everything that was always said about Sonny's efficiency, there's one thing that can't be denied. A team made up entirely of Sonny Black's would probably kick a lot of ass. Hell, if you're going to take competition that seriously, then you're bound to win. Probably one of the main reasons I liked playing on the same team as him on L4D. Possibly the only game I have ever taken seriously in my life, to a rage inducing level. The reasons why are still not clear to me, even to this day. :?

The German squad have got it down to a fine art though. Their passing and understanding of each other is just frightening at times. They are clearly a group of men who practice relentlessly until their plays are perfect. I can't see any other side challenging them now tbh, and one thing about the Germans is they very rarely lose their cool, which isn't something I can say about any of the other sides still the competition...

Fucking awesome stuff though. If Scotland got to the World Cup Semi-Finals, the country would be going in to meltdown right now. Those crazy nights where you see a guy chew off another guys ear and spit it into traffic, and you don't even care. Doesn't even faze you. Doesn't even distract you from the guys ear you're chewing off.

If we got to the final, Scotland would just cease to be. It would be cordoned off like something out of 28 Weeks Later. An uninhabitable zone filled with insane Scotsmen with more alcohol in their veins than blood. Maybe that's why it doesn't happen. Maybe it's all a Government conspiracy. :shock:

Or maybe we're just shit.

I completely agree with you here.
That's why I don't like their attitude.
It's the same with F1 in Germany.
But people complaining like me and you are just jealous in some kind of way, because their own nation does not have anything to show off (except for the cycling sport, which I find pretty boring...still, go Andy Schleck! :P).
It is, of course, very normal to proud of their own national team.
So it is understandable...but I still hate it! :lol:

Regarding football, there are three teams I can't stand: Germany, France and Italy. :18

Germany only deserve to win because they are the only team playing football at these finals...

Maybe spain can pick it up a bit and at least give us a semi interesting final...

this is why i hate football, everyone in the world gives a fuck about it apart from those actually playing it. They are too busy counting their earnings which could have been spent on curing cancer....

Problem with international football is most of these players play for different teams and therefore dont train together except for maybe 2 months every 2 years, and it means that the quality is worse than normal club level football...

The reason spain won euro 08 and are still holding strong here are only because its basically Barcelona FC, most of them train together weekly and play together weekly...

This world cup has been a large disappointment in football quality - no game except maybe the ones between the lowest level clubs were even competitive.

hehe i love football fans, actually to be fair, i really do, went into a pub today, didnt realise the game was on, omg, blonde foxy german ladies everywhere! was FUCKING awesome, so at least thats one good thing about international football, its funny how all the men thou are looking at dudes in shorts running around rather than trying to chat up the fine goddess of a woman next to them lol.
