you are all. a bunch of faggots (SpA meme) Anyways - you guys are too strict - if that isn't architect worthy then I don't know what is. And while I don't think double promotions should happen, if kattoo sticks around on our server and continues building stuff like that (i.e. one more thing like that ^^), then I don't see anything wrong with an architect rank, that is skipping the time requirements. If he has been promoted to architect already, then I won't be making a fuss about it either since again - for me ranks are more of a COMMON SENSE thing than a matter of following strict rules but since we have been proven time and time again that many people lack common sense... |

What i meant was that he could, and I have no doubt will, build a mason-worthy build. For THAT build he gets mason. Then he applies for Architect with THIS build which he build earlier. A bit... cumbersome I agree but he is bound to the 1-week-wait anyway.
First, I'm not talking directly about this build. Also Architects get promotion-rights. So its not just for prestige. I wasn't aware that Architects had promotion powers. I thought mod+ were the only ranks with moderation powers above kick. >.> If what you say is the case filler, then why would you get promoted to mason for the architect worthy build? Forgive me if this is an oversimplification, but are you essentially telling the builder in question "This is a great build! Have a promotion! make something good, but not necessarily great and we'll promote you again!" ? THAT doesn't make sense to me. ![]() day 1: promoted from guest to builder for who knows what day 2: Made an epic architect-worthy terminator day 4: Made epic mason-worthy thing. Gets promoted from builder to mason day 7: Submits terminator for architect-promo. Gets promoted from mason to architect This solves the doublepromo-"problem". The 1-week-rule for architects is, in my opinion, only there to give the player time to get a feel for how this server works (ie DRAMA) and what we think is worthy of a promotion to builder or not. THAT is the only reason why I'm not logging in right now and promote him. Because he has not been around long enough. |

Just wanted to give props to Kattoo for retaining the badass essence of THE TERMINATOR in his build. This is tricky to do in minecraft, as many users fall victim to over-simplicity and poor resolution, which is the quickest way to make a piece seem soulless. We need more awesome figures and fewer hotels IMO ![]() BTW lots of GREAT 3D models have been made on the adv maps since I've been gone |

thisoh heavens this it's a good thing competitive nature of minecraft is being reigned in - details and such are in other threads - cos that's not how things happen around here. by the sounds of it, there probably won't even be an architect rank, and if i understand right, then the builder's skill won't be a factor in making promotions at all; it'll be judged by whether that user can be trusted with power and will help make the servers and the community a cool place to be so that people can carry on playing the game and building cool stuff like this. whilst you could say that the competitive aspect and going from promos leads to cool stuff like a fucking gigantic terminator made out of lego, the elitist culture that appears to have sprung up because of it isn't a healthy trade off. i'm not on the minecraft servers alot, so this opinion is less qualified than everyone elses, but the forums pretty much speak for themselves. and that's pretty much how it's gonna go down anyway, whether you like it or not ![]() forunately, most people seem supportive of the change. hopefully, the mindset will change too, and it will spread to the wider community (and if they don't, they'll most likely be told to get on their bike ![]() |

I know this has sort of been answered but i feel i should put my 2 bobs worth in At first glance, I was against double promotions, but then I started thinking about what the architect rank is. If someone builds an architect worthy build, but they're only a builder, why should they only get mason? If the same person had first built a non-architect worthy, yet mason worthy, build first, and THEN an architect worthy build, they would get the promo. Are the qualifications for architect then "build something cool AND THEN build something epic?" That doesn't seem right. Architect is an odd rank anyway. Some people skip right to mod. I really can see no justification for an outright ban on builder -> +architect promotions for worthy builds. On a more on-topic note, I'm withholding my vote on this until get a chance to log in and check it out. Oh, and don't mind the chat in the second screenshot. HBOT and I were having an argument. ![]() ![]() |
