It's not to be a... racist, or whatever, but seriously, all cities until now have been made by supops. I guess it is still possible, but you would have to ask Lim or Ollie... dunno.

Yeah ask me, the almighty...for some reason. I don't hold any dominance over SMP, I'm just a little bitch about my our city.

Build what you want along the guidelines. For example don't build a city next to a city, that is just dumb. Name the city accordingly. Don't wage war on other cities (yet). Don't make it a one man effort...if one guy builds a city all on his lonesome it will take forever. Don't get me wrong if you are a fantastic builder like Filler or something, I would understand, but you catch my drift.
Also make sure you land any distinctive landmarks around the city.

Thanks Pete + others for the names. I will work on an updated map now with some awesome new names.

Also don't use the map in this thread for the map overlay like some people were doing. If memory serves correct I made it half the size.

Ollie is way more important than Lim when it comes to SMP, but Lim has a pedobear skin, so I guess they're tied up.

I didn't realise I held such a position. I will be sure to outdo his pedobear seduction techniques by using my age of 18.

But also on that note, Fordoar I said you get a city, not a region. I just said I need NAMES for the regions.

Speaking of which. The others pretty much have names from the random list I have.

However I want to let these guys choose the names for the regions because they are building cities there and because I said so. If they don't want to then be all like "Oh Ollie you sexy fool. I place my sexy trust in you to give my sexy region a sexy name" and I shall do said task.

PetePorty - Region 2
Mr_Green - Region 7
FillerB - Region 8
Aleries - Region 9 N and 9 S

Try make the names in major city theme (i.e Aleries, oriental names to match the oriental named city being built).

Also because I know you will read here it here even though it doesn't belong.

Guys building yo cities. Give yo cities separate forum threads in the "Suggestions and shit" part of the Minecraft forums. That way we can integrate pages for cities into the wiki. See the page I did for SpAradise City for a rough reference on the kind of content (yeah, a history and shit. Make things sound wanky as well).

Forum spam!

wow... I really need to stop writing forum posts at 4AM after having only an hour of sleep the 2 nights before...

Druidia is the actual name of my city, i'v got a couple other people building it with me (Platz and someone else) It's sort of a nature theme with builds trying to incorporate some sort of functionality on the Z-Axis. Basically, it's got an air bridge and if you would like to build something onto it please include some vegetation and make the building enter-able from the 2nd floor where the bridge is. Im trying to get away from the normal "the front door is on ground level" feel of most other buildings and cities in general.

Ollie, Venice is kinda where Trident Cove is... Can I keep the place, or should I look for another one?

Sure, bust it open. Just say it was on the "former location of Trident Cove" in the wiki.

Also to all readers of this thread!

People have named things and not told me. Post them in this thread if you name something and tell me where it is roughly and I will find it. I need to put it on the map. If people are naming things and don't know about this thread, direct them to this thread.

Look for it on the map found here.
http://minecraft.specialattack.net/inde ... _%28SMP%29
Just match up the features, and use a compass to find which direction from the spawn you are.

Name it and stuff and tell me and I will put it on the map. I will update the map labels when more people name things.

ok cool, thanks. I assume, then that the compass aways points towards the spawn? and its in the very early stages of development. however, There is a square building of cobble and some furnaces with a sign labeled "llama's land please do not develope here" we are willing to buy it from (who i assum to be) bloody_llama? if not please tell me whos this is if anyone knows..

Edit: also, how big are these regions(compared to real life places or countries)

Ollie, I just came across this site:
http://www.maplib.net/
Example of a map:
http://www.maplib.net/fullmap.php?id=8630

Maybe something to look into. The static map we have now is great and all, but an interactive map would be even better.

Compass points to spawn, Bloody_Llama is the only Llama based PLAYER, Super_Llama is a developer, and buggered if I know the sizes.

/info is a much nicer way to get the position of the feature.

Anyway, I found this cool mapgen rarity compassing around today. I've dubbed it monolith cove. Use the warp monolithcove to check it out.
