I like the fact that it had so little zombie activity in it, that I'd actually forgotten all about them when they were sitting round the camp fire. And the funny thing is, when that zombie was outside Ed's tent, I actually thought it was Merl coming back to get revenge on the folk who'd left him on the roof.

When he opened the flap and that zombie was there, I was like 'Oh shit, I forget about them!'

And then people died.

Yeah i was the thinking the same moist, i thought earl must have come back (with little to no men to defend the women and children) but was really suprised when it wasnt, although we have had a hunch that maybe HE brought them all there in the van... maybe?! bit far fetched.

I loved the Latino nursing home guys lol, really didnt see any of that coming and it was great tbh.

Its really weird, but im really liking Earls brother as a character, im so curious to see who's side he takes when they meet earl again.

I agree, and im really liking the fact that the "walkers" aren't the main enemy in this show, more the obstacle.

I always know a series is good when you want to immediately watch the next one when it ends, and not like lost or any of that crap where you are only left with that feeling because the episode you just watched was so unsatisfying and brought up more plot questions than resolving current ones - which is a sign of bad writing

I have to agree on the care home part as well, I was like "Holy crap, shit is about to hit the fan, huge shootout!

Actually, I liked their solution better than a big shoot out. I admire their way of keeping the verisimilitude of the movie, which basically means that everything stays in believable realms. They avoid zombie / horror clichés in a very clever way.
It's not a "Holy shit, zombies, let's plow through the hordes" but more a "Holy shit, zombie apocalypse, let's try to survive and keep a clear head, otherwise were screwed" scenario, which makes the whole show more intense.

I just looked it up, the pronounciation for that guy that has disappeared is Merle
I wonder how long he will stay away, and if they will keep him as a surprise thread that suddenly attacks them when they seem to be safe (at least from zombies).
I forgot who it was (I think burni), who said after the third episode: "I wonder, why didn't he just saw through the chain of the cuffs", but I found it pretty funny
I wonder what I would do... probably rather break my hand why my knee or something (I think I saw it in a Friday 13th movie or so) to pull it out of the cuff

Yeah i was really happy they explained the reasons for cutting his hand off rather than the cuffs, and what i love most is the fact that they are so careful with the continuity (like making sure they grab the tool box/returning the tools borrowed etc, little things but just maintain the intended realism, and explaining things properly on the whole is great too, like the recap of merles journey off the roof

I like how they tied things up with merles hand, like the tournique ( his belt whichw e saw) and then the cauterizing. Just shows the extreme lengths theyve gone to write somethign awesome. I also like that they don't hang around plotlines and stuff, I thought he would be looking for his wife for the whole series if not the entire shows lifetime, but he finds em in ep. 3 and boom, next song.

Realism is king here

i just hope they explain how he avoided infection, or at least show the big guy suffering from a fever, a brief mention would satisfy me

The zombie attack at the end was really similar to a part of one of the comics.

Episode 5 was quite emotional, i was screaming at Andrea when she was holding her sister, calling her a dumb bitch etc, but then it paid off and i love how they treated that whole reanimation problem, but hardly any action, so this only leads me to believe episode 6 "The Finale" will be intense I'm curious to know what will happen with that handy note left on the sports car ^^ And i really like the new character they introduced be interesting to see how he reacts to certain people... and i reckon Daryl is gonna make to make a difficult decision between his brother and the "right thing"... at a guess thou, i've been surprised before by this series

So i guess its off to the finale now!!! TAAANKKK!!!!

hehe lol, i guess it is better than just sitting around in the woods i suppose.. although i have seen enough zombie films to know to never trust the military when the Z-apocalypse happens, soldiers without orders are dangerous :S Personally, if i was running the show, i would try and find some millionaires house in the country side near a natural water source and start a community, grow veg, raise goats for food and repopulation etc, and or... go find bill murrays house in hollywood.

hehe i agree about the character development, and i dont think they have done a bad job thus far, its pretty hard developing many characters in a short space of time, but in saying that, such a short amount of time without some cool action would be pretty dull. I just like that fact they have reached the "finale" and there is gonna have to be some sort of mass stand off, and this is just a hunch, but i reckon the scientist let them in because he needs fresh uninfected human brain tissue or meryle will break in and do something dark... like kill Dale...

Unfortunately I found the make-up too real because I yacked when Glenn yacked as they were chopping up the body . Sweeeeet motor though. Bloody love to ride around in a dead city in that Mustang
