BTW I'm sure you realised, but I changed the warp to Tombstone, not juncotown. |

Yeah that's fine, 'juncotown' was just a temp warp so people would know where to go if they wanted to help out.

I've laid a strip of sand 3 blocks wide, you can carry with the track, just aslong as you make sure it's sand undeneath them, I'll just build the station around it. Hopefully I can get online in a couple of hours. |

Well the station needs to be 1 block higher so we can have a dip to get some speed up into the boosters, so keep that in mind.

SMP down? Ok, when it's back up I wanna be around before you make the booster. What I have in mind is just dipping the track for abit like ____________ .......................... ________________________Ground level .................. \________________/ ..........................Station Ignore the dots. I have a feeling this isnt at all what you meant? |

Invert that Junco The Station is a "bump" rather than a "dip" |

Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
No lol, I havent been stealing sand from people's bays. Alex_the_pro told me I could have the sand by his bank, and thats where I've been getting it from. There's like a shit ton of it there. The rest I got from the donation chest outside my house. I collect sand keeping in mind I dont want to ruin the landscape. Thanks Kirshi, though there's not a great deal to see at the moment, hopfully Ill get on later and gets some more flattening done. ![]() |

Yeah I was looking at that thinking oh shit man, how did he do this so quick? I gave up walking on it aha Works going slow, compass portings gone, and I keep falling of the hills Im clearing. The block lag's horrendous, and it's too difficult to work at night so I have to stop, it lags me for some reason, and I can't light up ther whole area, seeing as Im deleting it. Nothing I can't handle though, I just need to do it at my own pace :] lol Pete, you hippy |

Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
I just finished the bridge. But I had compass porting so fair enough. You can see where it goes on the new map overlay. |

Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
Why was compass porting deleted anyways? I don't rememver the server ever crashing due to compass port... :/ |

Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
Wasn't it compass porting that corrupted the chunks? |
Author: | prototypedesign [ 23 Nov 2010, 02:39 ] |
Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
I don't know that Ollie. The reasons Lim gave, IIRC, were (and paraphrased, despite being in quotes): "Teleporting too heavily caused lag-crashes, and when these crashees rejoined, they crashed the server." and "Teleporting into corrupted chunks." I don't know if that means they don't cause the corrupted chunks, but it sounds like probably not? |
Author: | Hit_Girl [ 23 Nov 2010, 02:47 ] |
Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
No, compass porting simply made them more frequent because it was the faster way to travel, thus far more likely to enter corrupted chunks. |

Kirshi wrote: I'll be on later today for a couple of hours so if you need my help just ask! ^^
I did! I asked if you cuboid me some sand! but no dice!I know it's cheating, but the amount of sand laying I've done on the edges of the town so it blends into the map, rather than a big clumbsy square, has taken soo much time and effort, had no idea the edges would be so tricky X| I'm almost done sanding, and have realised how gutted I'd be if anything was to happen to my precious dustbowl. So I'd like to talk about zoning it. I cant afford to have people steal the sand as I could only lay one layer of it, but it'd be difficult to zone as the town is a complicated shape, but /realms can zone with mutiple points right? The buildings in the town itself will keep to a square format, one side, close to the track, will have the town buildings, while the otherside will have animal farms and an automated cactus farm. Is it possible for somone to place a cow and pig spawner for me? I just wanna give the town a purpose, and I think a source for leather and pork would be a good idea, so I wanna make a ranch ;D I doubt this can be done but I'd like to somehow whitelist people to certain plots, but not the rest of the town, any suggestions on that? Hope all this isn't too much to ask for, but I'd be real gratful ![]() |

I THINK you can have zones within zones, not sure though. |
Author: | Lim-Dul [ 26 Nov 2010, 23:14 ] |
Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
Yes, Realms was designed specifically to make zones within zones (hence the whole "parent zone" thing) and the cuboid plugin is getting better and better too - newer zones override older zones, so in most cases when you zone i.e. a city (for which Realms would be better =) and then give out zones inside, the smaller zones will be overriding the parent zone. |
Author: | Ollieboy [ 27 Nov 2010, 09:43 ] |
Post subject: | Re: Tombstone |
Has it been zoned? I will happily zone it! Also Lim, the child zones inherit the parent zone restrictions and permissions unless you use the "override" at the end of the grants and denys. So supops...remember that! |

Ok Tombstone's nearing completion, and 8 people have bought plots now. The last plots will be selling soon, until I can suss out the layout, for the Western side of the rail, and there'll be more up for sale. If you're interested in a plot leave sign on the enquiry wall in Builder's Society, next to the church. j_mon also has permissions in the town, so he's around to help if I'm not. Current residents: j_mon cmanrocks500 prototypedesign Sk8r1056 Hit_girl Illuziions Roroc, and bag_el also run a nifty casino in Tombstone, which is worth checking out. ![]() |
