They pretty much march in their hundreds towards forward bases and get gunned to bits. After that they pressure some new recruits and and do it again. Infact the only way in which Taliban has appeared effective to me is by means on fear, guerilla, and less ethical tactics. They've beheaded children, and chop off peoples hands for reading. They've even used children to bomb the houses of politicians.

Amongst them, I'm aware they have some formidable specialists, that have even pinned downed the SAS, but I think it was British who setup the Taliban in the first place to repell an invasion anway so...

Edit: When I say setup, I mean in terms of modern warfare, as the Taliban already existed ofc.

how about you learn how to use the internet and research it for yourself... ( are they still not teaching history class in the states)
people would reconsider their patriotic views when they realised that 9/11 was only successful because of well "trained" persons...

When the Soviets were occupying that territory we covertly trained and supplied the local militia and other groups that are now terrorist organizations. I don't think it was the CIA specifically (they're civilian aren't they?); rather a secret group from the military. Maybe SEALs.

generally speaking, i tend to shy away from the internet when i want actual factual information, unless i can find a really nice website. But ona topic such as the one were discussing, i have a feeling the internet might bring up a few things that arent true :| I didnt mean to attack/ignore you.
