That last one was brilliant! I love the Peppers and this was a great interpretation.

"Well Jesus Christ, I'm alone again, so what did you do for those three days you were dead? Cos this problem's gonna last, more than the weekend."

torn between love for this album and just wanting to go up, give them a hug and tell them that it's gonna be alright.

Whats more emo? The song or the idea that one hug will make it better?

You invented a new game.

A band who kick started the emo genre nearly 25 years ago.

Rites Of Spring - Remainder

A song about the uselesness of conformity, the value of being true to your self and devoting your time and attention to you passions and not being a slave to a scene.

Odd that emo ends where it has considering its start point was a rejection of a self indulgent scene.

"I've found the answer lies in a real emotion, Not the self-indulgence of a self-devotion"

I wen't off idlewild after meeting Roddy at a gig a few years back, not long after the remote part was released, he was a total prick. I've heard good things about the new album though, so i'll probably check it out. If you like idlewild and their early stuff theres every chance youd like the early 90's emo stuff... Sunny Day Real Estate and the band early idlewild so wanted to be Far would be worth a look.

to think that these guys played in my lifetime and that I missed it, and that I'm never gonna see them now... ah well. this is still awesome.

edit: well now that I think about it I saw the Aussie Pink Floyd tribute band and they were pretty damn awesome

I'll have to get rapidshare so you can send me some drive like jehu; never did like at the drive in or anything, but I sure dig that

everything on this album is 3 minutes, most it well under 2. hated it at first cos it sounded like they got loads of ideas for good songs and butchered them, but now I friggin love it!

could barely believe this was Idlewild when I first heard this (rest of the album is them being acoustic-y, mostly). so very catchyyy

always liked led zepp, but I'm only just realising how much. this kicks ass

so epic that it needs 2 videos.
Quote:
The record begins innocuously with “The Day Shift”, which begins and ebbs like a normal post rock song would, the intro building towards its eventual “climax”, featuring one of the key pegs in the pg.lost cog: the distortion in a pg.lost song is done so wonderfully, you’ll begin to wonder if it really counts as distortion or if the music is just so beautiful you can’t hear it straight. As it begins to wind down, and you hear what would expectedly be the last few guitar notes being plucked, the song explodes into something AT LEAST five times louder and more epic than it was before. The dual guitars interweaving as the drums crash around, while the song ends in a heavily distorted solo.

Its hard to describe something so ***ing brilliant, people.
and if that doesn't get you to spend 10 minutes listening to it, then they're also swedish. that's reason enough isn't it? :p

That was post-rock at its finest!
When I started up the second clip my eardrums got blasted to Valhalla.
