I'm so with you on the "&nd". It hurts my eyes from a linguistic perspective and that's my weak spot... I mean - the problem with it is that it doesn't make the word shorter which is the whole idea behind the "&" symbol... P.S. I use "^^" quite often and I have never ever had anything to do with any Asian communities. I think the reason is that I can't find a rotated emoticon that would convey the same meaning... This is also true for "0_o" and to a lesser extent for "-.-" although the latter can be replaced with ":-|" or ":-\", which I often do. In other news: I don't like graphical smilies as you might have noticed and I like my emoticons to have "noses" because my own nose is quite prominent. :-D |
