I like it but i dnt use it now, for 2 reasons![]() Anyway, I'm so locking forward to this! ![]() 1) I sound stupid and to top it off i cnt hear myself talking because of my headset so sound worse lol 2) It makes my TF2 not sound right, xD |

so, basically all we're really doing is playing a pub game.. where all the SpA's stack? 0_0 you can't communicate through ingame voicechat when you're dead, we've used teamspeak way back then and it worked great.. why wouldn't mumble work now? O; |

Wait a minute - aren't all the cups, matches and events supposed to promote SpA and our infrastructure? We all agree that Mumble is very important e.g. when it comes to the recruitment process so instead of not using it "because it's easier" we should actively encourage people to download and configure it. Otherwise this would be an opportunity wasted. |

Mumble is the number one choice for voicecommunications during matches. If you want an argument why; Better latency then ingame voice, better quality then ingame voice, possibility for voice activation useage, echo cancelation etc etc. |

uh oh.. don't let the ex-grr's hear this.. they will hate you and say it's not true (even with all the evidence O;)If you want an argument why; Better latency then ingame voice, better quality then ingame voice, possibility for voice activation useage, echo cancelation etc etc. ventrilo/teamspeak/ingame voicechat for the lose 0_0 and sonny.. it IS ontopic.. since you mentioned wanting to use ingame voicechat.. and we disagree on that o: |

Oh, but it is - Mumble has been mentioned several times and the question about voice communication during the match as well. Hence I wanted to direct everybody's attention at the potential "Mumble advertising opportunity". =)Quote: uh oh.. don't let the ex-grr's hear this.. they will hate you and say it's not true (even with all the evidence O;)
Yeah, I already had a little chat about that. ^^The problem most people have with Mumble are the bugs - it doesn't work well for everybody. However, the same could be said about TS or Ventrilo. Other than the problems of only a handful of people Mumble does exactly the same thing TS and Ventrilo are doing only better (nicer administration than Ventrilo and lower latency/higher sound quality than TS - not to mention additional features the other programs are lacking). Anyways - I don't think the question is whether Mumble is good for us since the decision for SpA has been made, it's rather a question whether we should promote it during SpA-endorsed events so not only SpA members but other forum and server regulars join us for a chat. |

You'll do everyone, who didn't use mumble before, a big favour by "forcing" them to use it ![]() |

Well I have no problem with using Mumble, it's just I've never used it before. Thought the ingame chat was good enough. But do you use Mumble when you are playing in public or just during matches? Besides that, does everyone in the community team have a mic? |

Maybe some of us that do are just too lazy to look for it, dust it, blabla. ![]() |

I know Mr. 87 does not own a mic, but I think if he is able to listen, this should be no problem. The most important person with a mic will be the leader of the comm team, I still need to find. ![]() |

Or you could make it a challenge and turn alltalk on and then you'd have to rely on the primitive forms of secretedly communication. Or use codes like "Shrimp is on the barbie! Take a sail!*" Boy that would be interesting to watch. *"Incoming on control point B! Hurry up!" |

I'll use it for matches but not casual play. It makes my tf2 sound go "dull". |

could anybody write a tutorial how to install mumble and configure it correctly? because stuff like the overlay and PPT have to be configured and this takes at least 5 minutes. everybody on the community team should do it in time before the match. so if anybody is willing, just make a forum thread in the members section and i'll put it on the homepage. |

Can anyone recommend a good headset with build-in mic? I haven't been able to find a pair with good enough sound quality, so they can be used for other things than gaming. Price dosen't matter.
