Team Fortress is now becoming Age of Empires instead of World of Warcraft.

You read it here first folks.

EDIT: And how the fuck is the Demoman supposed to have a mum?
Valve is now becoming Capcom :ugly:

Can't be.

Look at the other crate. The words are centered on the crate, which means the first word (sco) is shorter than the second one (res)!

Unless its purposely altered (like photoshop :P) so only those 3 letters of each word can be clearly seen thus inspiring discussions like this ^^

Omg, this rocket launcher could be a lot stronger in the hands of a skillful soldier than the old one. I guess that it's clip size will be smaller than 4, otherwise it seems too OP.

This will probably mean all the teams in the higher division will want to use it, but on the other hand I doubt many people want to play with the Demoman's melee kit in the competitive scene. This is gonna create a huge discussion again, just like the scout update did.

I have a feeling that demo charging stuff will be just annoyng as sandman is :(, will be fun/interestin at beginning but then will only bring whine and eternal discussion like you said. On the other hand this new roketlauncher is great new addition and require aiming and timing skill (like the "old" one tought) but I doubt there will be less than 4 roket...imagine that clip will empty way faster :) (dunno about reloading time)

Look at this.

Day 3
* Cup stain on newspaper (Most likely Demo's Bottle (Foreshadow to demo update the next day))
* "Will Science Win the War?"

Day 4
* Boot Print (Foreshadow to Solly update the next day)

Day 5
* Oil Splatter on the paper (Engy, Now why would HE be there... (Foreshadow to tomorrow?))
* Serviceman's Newspaper (Solly or Engy reference?)
* Person is the top left looks like and Engy. Looks like he is wearing Goggles.
* Look at what he is wearing on his chest
* Person was Payed to find the Solly (Mercenary)
* Pauling just kills the Feed. She isn't told to leave the Solly.

Other Reasoning:
* Valve would add an Engy update to prevent a solo Engy update that caused games with Pure turtling.

That rocket launcher sounds like

a) a nice thing
b) nothing for me :ugly:

So it's time to train airblasting again. Reflecting direct hit rockets will be fun... :4

Post subject:  Re: New Blog Post

I just looked up statistics on the TF2 wiki:

Old Rocket with direct hit crit 270 dmg + 25% damage > 300 hp overhealed soldier
Old rockets which have travel time of around 1100 hammer units per second (~47 mph) + 80% > Arrows travel around 1875 hammer units per second (~80 mph)

So reflected crit rockets of the new rocketlauncher will kill an overhealed soldier if they hit, but the rockets fly faster than arrows. x_X

Just a wee bit faster than an uncharged arrow, but not as fast as a charged one.
* Rocket: 1100 units.
* Uncharged Arrow: 1875 units.
* Direct Hit: 1980 units.
* Charged arrow: 2343.75 units.
Approximately. The closest projectile is the Scout's Sandman ball: 1940 units.
Quote:
105-112 * 125% = 131-140
That's instagib vs scout(wont hit), spy(shouldn't hit), sniper(should kill the soldier first) and engineer(ಠ_ಠ).

Liking what I've seen from the update this far. The melee stuff the demo got sounds interesting, just wondering how much it will alter his focus from rather long range artillery to melee? o0
Anyway it's very intriguing to see how it will play out when all the cards are on the table :)

Seems like the new rocket launcher will be a lot better than the old rocket launcher and pretty much like the pipe launcher, just shooting straight instead of an arc.

Quote:

Its pretty easy to hit scouts with direct pipe from close range, so I suppose it cant be much harder with rockets that fly 80% faster.

Post subject:  Re: New Blog Post

My predictions for new rocket launcher to do mini crits in mid-air shots were right :P Lets hope they wont be to fast, cause then they might be impossible to dodge on middle distance.

Post subject:  Re: New Blog Post

demomans new thing will almost definately be Scottish Reserve; a bottle to replace his old one.

new rocket launcehr sounds interesting... sort of. depends how easy making direct hits with faster rockets is, and whether the blast radius turns out to be stupidly tiny. any how far it launches whoever it hits. either way, it's gonna mean that people already good with the soldiers accuracy, if they can get used to faster projectiles, are gonna be deadly.

anyways. I have a proposition for a special 'melee' sunday - both sides a mix of demomen with swords and shields, or sniper with huntsmen and jarate, map is 2fort. medieval night! :4

I'm a beta tester for PVKII.

Anyways, I kinda like the new unlockables.
Let's not hope for a whinestorm on the tf2 forums.
