Oh wow, Blizzard does not plan to add realm switch support and instead wants you to buy another SC2 with american region code if you want to play with your american friends.

Blizzard really tries everything to drive the fans away.

I think Blizzard is going balls to the wall with SC2 and using it more or less as a dangerous precedent and marketing/business experiment.

They have years of experience of leeching money off people for as little as someone farting in WoW despite the need to buy the game and a subscription fee.

Now they're testing how much money can be squeezed out of a popular NON-MMORPG multiplayer franchise. As I have always been saying when it comes to WoW Blizzard slowly but surely came to the conclusion that they just need to release a solid title with 0 innovation but slap their name and one of the brands on the box and people will be going batshit crazy over it - well they worked long and hard to establish this kind of brand recognition and loyalty and are now reaping the benefits.

You have to buy SC2 thrice for all the campaigns (that is retarded, no matter how huge their scope might turn out to be), pay for region codes - I bet there will be payments for like stats resets or additional stuff as well - everything short of a subscription fee. And you know what? YES, people will be outraged, YES there will be rants on blogs all over the Internet BUT SC2 will still sell like 1-2 million copies for sure (multiplied by three ;-). To me it's just despicable and the beta put me off so much by its lack of originality that I probably won't even buy one part - perhaps just pirate it for single player and forget about multiplayer which, like I wrote many times, I haven't been interested since like 2000.

P.S. Be prepared for i.e. separate paid class campaigns in Diablo III. I called it first. :-P

Their new franchise is what excites me the most. Hoping it will be something
completely new for blizzard, as in not another RTS or Hack and Slash.
I suppose I wouldn't mind if they made another MMO, but then they'd have to make
it completely different from WoW to get my attention.. perhaps a sci-fi/fantasy steampunk FPS-PRG-MMO hybrid,
with magic-wielding zergs, psionic goblins and dwarfs with gauss rifles... could work ;)
